Fashion Favs from Fall 2022

Happy Thursday, y’all! I know I’m not the only one who’s ready for the weekend! Coming back into a routine after a holiday break is always a challenge 😂 I love Thanksgiving, but the short break we get from it is almost a bit of a tease right before Christmas!

Speaking of Christmas, it’s hard to believe that the 25 day countdown to the holiday has officially begun! It’s weird because even though I previously stated that we had a lot more fall in Ohio than the last few years, it still felt like it flew by fast! Though I’m definitely a Christmas lovin’ gal at heart, it is a little bittersweet saying goodbye to my favorite season! Especially since I know right after December there’s gonna be three long months of winter 😅

Since autumn is wrapping up and there’s a lot of good sales going on (great for holiday shopping especially!), I thought that I would share a collection of some of my fall fashion favorites from this year!

Do y’all have any fall fashion favorites from this year? Comment below and share with me!

Boho Chic Meets Harvest

Hi, darlings! It’s been a hot sec, how are y’all?? I was really soaking in the beauty of fall and harvest season the last few months!

I know there’s only a couple weeks of fall left and the holiday season is officially in full swing, but I thought better late than never to post a fall fashion-inspired post. It’s weird to say this, but it’s the first time in years that it actually felt like fall! Does anyone else feel that way? That last couple years (at least in Ohio), it would stay hot and humid till late October, then we get fall for one brief week and immediately it goes right to winter. But this year it came early, and everything about it was so perfect. Anytime I went out for a drive I would always see tons of leaves falling down from colorful trees, and it was absolutely stunning to see. I was actually feeling nostalgic and reminisced on memories of the season growing up!

I have tons of other outfits I’ve taken pics of but have been behind on sharing, but a lot of them are posted on Instagram! This featured dress is an oldie but goodie from Altar’d State. I love the stunning rust color and how it’s asymmetrical at the bottom, it’s so unique and boho! It especially looks glamorous with these off-white booties (made by MIA Shoes, but I actually ordered them through Freestyle on Stitch Fix!). I also included a classic denim jacket that’s perfect for the crisp weather, then topped off the ensemble with some gold jewelry like always. I felt like Carrie Underwood or Kelsea Ballerini in a music video, it was such fun outfit to shoot!

Speaking of shoot (photoshoot that is, of course 😂), I can’t end this post without giving a shoutout to my darling friend Katie Rios for taking these pictures for me. She’s been growing her freelance photography business and I could not be more proud of her! I just love how her style is so stunning and authentic. She really made me feel like I was taking pictures for a country music album during this photoshoot! 🥰 If anyone is in need of portraits, engagement photos, maternity photos, etc., y’all should definitely check Katie out. Transitional Summer-to-Fall Dress

I’m in a weird mental spot where I’m not ready for summer to end, but I’m also very stoked that fall is less than a month away 😅 Even though the end of summer is always bittersweet, it’s nice to know my favorite season comes right after! Then even after fall is over, I have Christmas too look forward to! Then, I’m ready to skip over winter and arrive in springtime 😂

The nice thing about transitioning from summer to fall is that it’s not to drastic of a change weather-wise, so it doesn’t require too much of a wardrobe revamp. In fact, it’s great because you have more style options when it comes to layers and accessories!

If you know me well enough, you love a love a good dress. I practically live in dresses all year-round, even during the winter months! I just recently got this red floral button midi dress from Stitch Fix (originally from AVLN Studio, and I’ll link similar dresses below!). I’ve already worn it to church, this photoshoot with Katie Mae Photography (the evidence is above, lol), and I’m planning on wearing it to my sister’s baby shower later next month. For church and the shower, I wear it with sandal heels, but for the photoshoot I opted out for a casual pair of white sneakers from Vionic Shoes. And of course, none of my outfits aren’t complete without some gold jewelry! This dress is very versatile for both casual and special occasions, and it will be perfect for summer cookouts all the way to harvest festivals in the fall!

Farmers’ Market Style

Does anyone else ever like to imagine that they’re a celebrity going out in public and getting pictures of them taken by the paparazzi when wearing a cute outfit? Or is that just me? 😂

One of the things I’m most eager about for summer is trips to farmers’ markets! My mom, sister and I always make it a mission to visit one at least once a month throughout the whole season, as well as till sometime in the fall when they stop. It’s always so fun to check out all the unique local vendors. We always go to the Countryside Farmers' Market in Howe Meadow, and this summer I’m making it a goal to also check out the Hudson Farmers’ Market because I heard amazing things about it!

Another random thing that I love about going to farmers’ markets is wearing a comfy but cute outfit! For these trips, I get a lot of style inspo from celebrities in pictures of them shopping at markets in LA such as Hilary Duff, Lucy Hale, Jennifer Garner and many more! This black square neck tiered maxi dress is an oldie but goodie from LOFT that I pretty much spend the majority of every spring and summer in (which was featured in my Outfits I Wore In Florida blog post from last year!). I love it because you can dress it down or dress it up. It’s so versatile and makes it so fun to style! It’s incredibly timeless, and I was able to link a lot of very similar dresses below for y’all to check out!

A few other details about this outfit: the ginormous hat of course! It’s probably a little too big for my head, but I’m a sucker for big and floppy hats ☺️ Plus, it’s great for sun protection! I got this particular hat from Target about a year ago and it’s unfortunately no longer in stock, but I linked some very similar hats below! As for shoes, I recently just got these Draper James cobalt blue sandals that I will also be wearing pretty much all throughout spring and summer. Blue is no doubt a favorite color of mine, especially the cobalt tone because it reminds me of my late Nana and her love for that color! As for accessory, I love pairing this look with this tote handbag from Target. And of course, no outfit of mine is complete without some gold jewelry like these multi-hoop earrings and layered cross necklace, both from Francesca’s!

Go-To Jumpsuit for Spring & Summer

Hey, loves! It’s been a while, so I thought I would share with y’all a new current go-outfit of mine, perfect for the remainder of spring and transitioning into summertime!

I just got this new jumpsuit from Red Dress, one of their newest arrivals in their spring and summer collection. I love that it has adjustable buttons, an elastic waist with a tie and 100% tencel, which makes it very sustainable and comfy. It also comes in a mocha color, which is just as stylish! Depending on the occasion, it looks fabulous with sandals, sneakers and wedges. In the pictures I took, I wore it with these slide sandals from Vionic Shoes because it was 80 degrees in Ohio, so the weather definitely called for summery shoes! For jewelry, my go-to’s with this jumpsuit are these multi-hoop earrings, cross layered necklace, and Kendra Scott pendant cuff bracelet (cuz y’all know that yo girl loves her gold jewelry!). For a final stylish addition, I like to top off the look with this oldie but goodie chenille floppy hat from Anthropologie (I linked some similar hats below 😉). All that’s left is a cute versatile bag and a iced coffee, and I’m ready to go to a local farmer’s market or any fun spring/summer occasion!

Check out my Instagram post featuring the outfit!

3 Ways to Style a Shacket

Any shacket lovers out there? I’m a little late to the bandwagon, but better late than never! It took me so long that my dad actually beat me to it 🤣

I recently got this French terry shirt jacket from Red Dress for Christmas that I’ve been wearing all throughout winter, and most certainly will be wearing it again all throughout next fall and winter. They’ve sold out super fast in every size but there is still one left in a large, and there’s also a very similar one that Red Dress just released! Not only is it great for the colder seasons but also perfect for transitioning into springtime weather! Since shackets (just a cooler way to say “shirt jacket” 😁) are super trendy in the fashion world at the moment, I thought I would share a few of my three favorite ways to style mine.

Aside from this post, I also shared a fun reel on Instagram with music on how to style this particular shacket as well!

Faux Leather chic

When I first got this shacket and thinking about how I was going to style it, faux leather leggings was the first thing that popped in my head! I’ve had this pair for over three years, but I definitely live in them pretty much every single winter season. I love pairing these pieces with this knit crop top (another oldie but goodie from Knot Sisters!), along with this gold chain link necklace from Altar’d State and gold multi-hoop earrings from Francesca’s for a touch of spunk. I also got this pair of white boots by Marc Fisher for Christmas, and they match PERFECTLY with this whole look! They certainly were made to pair with the shacket!

90s Meets Present Day

Everything about this look definitely gives me 90s vibes. The cropped mock neck top from Francesca’s, mom jeans from American Eagle, chunky black howler boots from Steve Madden, gold chunky hoop earrings from REVOLVE (which I like to call my Princess Jasmine earrings 🥰), hair jaw clips from Amazon and an oversized jacket, of course (or shacket in this case!). I was actually inspired by one of the outfits that Tyra Banks’s character wore in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I love this outfit idea because it’s so timeless and fits into the trends that are currently relevant. Some things from the past just never go out of style!

Dressin’ Up

I just recently ordered this sweatshirt dress from Red Dress and it fit even better than I was anticipating! I’m just eagerly waiting till it gets warmer outside so I can wear it more often lol. However, pairing it with the shacket makes a casual but dressy look for a fun winter outfit, especially with black high-knee boots and gold jewelry. This is a great outfit to wear to Sunday church service! I also think this outfit will be perfect to wear in the fall with a floppy hat, but I don’t want to think to far ahead because I want to enjoy spring and summer first 😂

The dress is actually only $18 right now and having its final sale, so make sure to snag it while you can if you really want it!

That Christmasy Time Of Year

“Ahhh! I love this Christmasy time of year.” - Sam the Snowman

I think the “ahhh” in that quote adds more of an emphasis 😂 Who else knows where that quote is from? No other than Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a holiday classic! Sam quoting that at the beginning is honestly one quote that pops in my head numerous of times throughout the holiday season (along with ElfHow The Grinch Stole Christmas, and many more). It’s true, I just love this time of year!

It’s so hard to believe that Christmas only FIVE more sleeps away! If you’re looking for some last minute holiday outfit inspo, I got just the look for you! Right now I’m absolutely loving this plaid mini wrap skirt from Francesca’s for any festive gathering. I got it back a while ago in September around the time all the fall clothes were coming in. This specific one unfortunately is no longer available, but I linked a few very similar ones below! With this skirt, I love pairing it with this mockneck top from Liverpool Jeans, along with my favorite black coat by Sam Edelman and black high-knee boots by Steve Madden. I love pairing it with everything black because it makes more of a statement with the red! Speaking of red, it only makes sense to wear a little bit of red lipstick to get into the festive spirit! For jewelry, I go pretty simple (I typically don’t wear necklaces with a mockneck or turtleneck top, but I’m not opposed to the look of it!), and wear these sophisticated white drusy earrings from Francesca’s, another bit of a statement piece to add a touch of glam to the look. Finally, since it is getting much colder out here in the Midwest, I gotta have my faux leather gloves from Amazon with me at all times! And of course, you can never go wrong with a classic bag by Kate Spade!

What to Wear to a Fall Wedding

In my opinion, fall is the perfect season for weddings. The crisp and mild weather makes it easy to wear practically anything, and the colors are just absolutely stunning. For bouquets, bridesmaid and groomsmen outfits, table settings, the aisle and altar, and so much more. Not to mention fall is my favorite season, so it makes sense as to why I love weddings during this time of year the most!

While there’s a lot of fun and vibrant choices of styles for spring and summer weddings, I feel like autumn offers a lot more unique ideas. It’s more appropriate to wear darker colors and metallic accents if that’s more of your style. With the beautiful shades of leaves and decor in the background, you are bound to look ravishing! Now that fall is finally here and that there are a lot of weddings currently taking place after being put on hold due to the pandemic, I thought I share a few of my favorite ideas for outfits to wear!

For the wedding I was in last month for my best friend Katie, me and all the bridesmaids wore dresses from an online shop called Revelry, known for their variety of bohemian style dresses! Pictured above: mine is a velvet off-the-shoulder in romantic rose and and Amanda’s (bridesmaid on the right) is a velvet v-neck in terracotta. I certainly will be re-wearing this in the future for occasions that call for it!

What's Trending This Fall

Hey, y’all! Happy first day of fall!

Although I’m a little bummed that summer is over, I’m also so excited because fall is my absolute favorite season! It’s still sunny and pretty hot in Ohio, but I’m eager for the leaves to turn into beautiful colors from autumn’s palette, as well as visit pumpkin patches, drink hot apple cider, sit by bonfires in cozy attire, and so much more. I could care less if that makes me sound basic 😂 Fall is just a wonderful part of the year, and reminds me that change can be beautiful!

I will also add that fall is most definitely the best fashion season. It’s that perfect time of year where the temperature is in between hot and cold, which means there are more options when it comes to styling. And as the big fashion guru I am, I’m always on the lookout every year to see what the latest trends are for each season, especially fall in particular. Well, I’m happy to report that there are quite some exciting and chic styles for this year’s season!

With that being said, here are some of the current fashion trends that are making it big for fall 2021!
