It’s Caroline, your new heavenly hype woman!
How I became a freelance personal stylist you ask? I’ve always love fashion and putting together outfits from a very young age. I went to Kent State University for 3.5 years and received a Bachelor’s Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising. During my time there, I took various of classes about the fashion industry (product development, retail management, buying, forecasting, etc.), studied abroad for a whole month in Florence, Italy, helped behind the scenes with styling at fashion shows, and much more. Eventually after graduating, I landed a job as a fashion stylist for Stitch Fix and worked at the company for over 4 years- working with clients and helping them find clothes they love gave me the courage to pursue freelance personal styling to help more people feel confident and good in their skin!
If you were to ask me on a deeper level, I definitely have to give all the credit for this gift of mine to Jesus, my Father and Savior! After getting saved and dedicating my life to Him, He lit a desire in my heart to help people experience Him through fashion. I’ve heard many regrade themselves based on their outer appearance, and I’ve been guilty of that as well. It breaks my heart because the truth is that God created all of His children so uniquely in His image, and through His eyes we are all beautiful and beloved by Him. Psalm 139:14 (NIV) says, “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” My hope and prayer with the mission of Styled by Splendor is to help people be reminded of how much God loves His children and become confident in the way that He made them all fearfully and wonderfully!
