Easter Sunday

"Hoppy" Easter! Jesus is alive and we are all free from the chains!

I'm loving this special holiday and spring finally coming into full bloom, but I just can't believe it's already April! Before we know it, we will be celebrating the Fourth of July. And then before we know it, it will already be Christmas. And then after that, it will be 2018! My heart beats faster just writing about it!

But I'm not going to waste my time worrying about the future. I want to enjoy each and every moment that I am currently experiencing, which is what I exactly did for Easter. On Saturday, my parents and I drove to Lima, where my dad grew up, to spend the holiday weekend with his side of the family. Lauren and her boyfriend drove up from Oxford to join the celebration, and then we had other relatives from Dayton that joined us. We stayed at my grandparents' house on Saturday night, freshened up early Sunday morning, went to a Catholic mass, and came back to the house for Easter lunch. It was a wonderful day and weekend, all thanks to the one and only King!

And of course, what is Easter without a cute outfit to post and share? I think this year's outfit might be the most Easter-like yet!

Off the shoulder dresses and tops have become such a huge fashion trend within the past year, and I have no doubt that it is going to continue on. I think they look great with every body type, no matter what shape. I've been gaining much more confidence when it comes to putting pictures of myself online, and looking at these pictures makes me feel even more confident. There's just something about this dress that makes me feel not only sweet but bold, and it most likely has to due with the off the shoulder portion of it. Or maybe I'm just embracing the fact that it's finally super warm and sunny outside!

This dress is from Tory Burch which I bought recently at a consignment shop in Georgetown for a cheaper price.  It's super perfect for spring with the colorful floral details and can also be worn as a coverup when going to the pool or beach. Plus, it has pockets which is always a bonus!

For shoes, I re-wore my Jessica Simpson red sandal wedges from my high school graduation. They matched perfectly with the red flowers on my dress and are comfortable to walk around in for a while. My only regret is not painting my toe nails for these pictures, otherwise they would have looked so much prettier and artsier!

I rarely wear dark red lipstick, and I am very grateful that it goes well with my dark hair and tanned skin tone. I recently ordered and received the spring edition box of FabFitFun and one of the few products included was an all red lip kit from RealHer and a gold cage bracelet cuff from Emerald Duv

The kit consisted of a red lip liner, red liquid lipstick, and red lip gloss. I wanted to try it out for Easter because it would match perfectly with the red flower details on my dress and my red heel straps. I first put the liner on to give my lips an even shape and extra touch of red, which felt a little creamy on my lips surprisingly (which is a good thing!) Then, I put the lip stainer on top and let it dry out. I didn't want to use the lip gloss because I wanted to see how the matte texture looked on my lips, as well as to make it last longer throughout the entire day, which thankfully it did!

I didn't do too much with my hair and makeup because I wanted to make it look more natural and not too much with the bright lip color.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Another great thing about this kind of dress is that it doesn't have to be completely off the shoulder. You can style it by wearing the ruffled straps has short sleeves, and it looks just as cute! It's also helpful to do that when you're not wearing a bra. Just saying.

I've been getting so anxious to wear this dress, and yesterday was the absolutely most perfect day to wear it for the first time. Plus, I can now say that I finally have an off the shoulder fashion piece, so I'm finally caught up on most of the latest trends! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter that was well spent with family, friends, Jesus, and plenty of colorful eggs!

Just a friendly little reminder that since summer is coming soon, that means that you can expect a lot of new summer blogs coming up! Of course I'm going to continue my fashion and Tuesday Ten posts, but I also want to try to focus much more on DIY ideas, beauty, lifestyle, and travel.

Thankfully, I'll have more time to write and post since I won't be in classes, which will also give me more time to improve. I am continuing to better my writing skills as well as my creativity. I want to improve my blog to make it become more professional and hopefully a big part of my dream career. I want to make the website as creative, positive, artsy, bold, intelligent, and helpful in any way possible for the reader. I am going to continue to pray, write, and plan new ideas to help further more into the blogging industry, and I highly encourage you to stay along for the ride! I want to thank all of my readers who have been reading this blog since day one, you are all what makes writing these posts so special!

Have you ever worn anything in an asymmetrical shape, like a shirt possibly? Well, if it's stylish, then it can be easy to pull off!

The weather in Ohio is getting much warmer now and it already kind of feels like summer! Of course, we Ohioans feel that way after a freaking long and miserable winter. It's like Floridians bundling up for 60 degree weather!

But anyway, since it's still a little chilly in mid April, I wanted to share a new outfit that fits well with the season and might come to you as a surprise: an assymetrical shaped shirt!

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

The first time I saw this shirt was in Zara during our trip to D.C. At first I thought it looked a dress, but then my mom told me it would look very cute with leggings or jeans, and that's when I realized it was actually a shirt! And I think it's much better off as a shirt, an asymmetrical dress would reveal a little too much.

I LOVE the dark gray color of the shirt! it's very modest and also a little calming. I think it's super creative and fun how the fashion designer(s) decided to make the dress more long on one side than the other. The fashion industry keeps getting more quirky and creative!

When it comes to jewelry, I would say either big chandelier earrings or a a long pendant necklace like the one pictured below from Anthropologie. Even though the shirt has a darker shade, I would still try to wear less jewelry since it's asymmetrical and you don't want to take away too much attention from it since it is the key to this specific outfit and which is why I'm writing a blog about it. Less is more!

Finally for shoes, it is warm enough outside to wear more open ankle footwear, which works perfectly well with these leggings from Lululemon that stop at my ankles. My favorite loafers from Madewell are so fashionable with this outfit and definitely stand out thanks to the cheetah print.

Spring Fling

Spring is starting to grow in full bloom! Ohio probably won't see the finishing touches of the flowery season until late April or May, but it has already made a heavenly progress. The weather has become a little warmer, flowers are starting to grow, there's no sign of any leftover snow from winter, and it's been raining quite a lot which is good for the plants!

It's currently 60 degrees in the northeast right now, it actually feels like summer! It's felt so much warmer outside that I actually wore shorts a while ago and I didn't freeze! Except I was wearing a sweatshirt also, so that's probably why I didn't get too cold.

During the spring, the temperature and weather is still unpredictable like in the winter. It usually doesn't get summer heat warm until May. Though it's a good time to get the shorts and sandals out, you might want to leave your winter coats out of the closet for a few more weeks. Even if you don't need a coat or large jacket, it's also a good idea to have a hat or scarf to warm you up just in case. And of course, jeans and cardigans always help as well. Easter this year should hopefully be sunny and warm, so a dress (if you're a lady) should be acceptable!

In the meantime, I want to share with you some new outfits that hopefully will inspire your style for this spring. I hope you like what you see!

"Peter Pan in Purple"

This is a type of dress that would be perfect to wear on Easter like I mentioned. AND it's purple, my third favorite color! What's not to love about a purple dress? I hope Prince is looking down from heaven and smiling!

One of the nicest things about springtime is when you can finally wear a summer dress without tights to keep warm. I honestly feel more comfortable in dresses than I do in jeans or even leggings, unless if it's a tight dress. I love the size, design, and length of this dress. It's not too short, it's not too tight, I love the flower-like pattern designs in the chest area, and it's perfect for any elegant or casual occasion in the spring and summer. The reason I titled this outfit "Peter Pan in Purple" was because of the collar which most fashionistas refer to as a Peter Pan collar, so I think it makes sense (hopefully).

It looks like I have an ombre with this lighting!

This beautiful necklace from J. Crew Factory that my sister let me borrow for these pictures looks great with this dress and is definitely an accessory that calls for spring. The necklaces with colorful stones are the best looking ones!

I also want to point out that I've had my eye on this criss-cross diamond gold ring from Francesca's for a while and I finally had to buy it because IT IS THE FREAKING COOLEST RING I HAVE EVER SEEN AND NOW I FINALLY OWN IT!

Lip Pop = Checked

Booties never go out of style for any season, definitely not for spring! These black booties from Steve Madden go perfect with any outfit and any temperature degree. I honestly love loud shoes (as in ones with heels) more than any other type of shoe because I feel powerful. It sounds as if though a girl boss is about to walk into a room and own it! Or it also sounds a horse walking in.

"Here Comes The Sun"

I am now going to take my focus on how to dress casually for the mild and sunny weather. Jeans can be worn anytime of the year, obviously. A necessary fashion piece, whether you like wearing them or not.

Green is a perfect spring color, no doubt. Off the shoulder shirts are also definitely in season!

I feel like this outfit (shirt, jeans, and shoes are all from Anthropologie) would be perfect for an outdoor party, especially if it's a college party. If you're graduating soon, now is definitely a good time to try to go to at least one or two parties!

An outfit like this can't be completed without some funky jewelry. So of course, my diamond leaf-shaped earrings have to be worn to add some more hipness!

"Pretty In Pink (and Navy)"

Anything in the color of pink (any shade) makes me smile, as well as a little hint of navy blue.

Spring might arguably be the most colorful season before fall, or at least the brightest in pastel and rainbow colors with all of the flowers. There definitely are no pink leaves in the fall, and pink fits with spring. Here I am in another casual outfit, but unlike the last more I'm a little more bundled. The weather in Washington D.C. in this picture was a little chilly and windy, so a cardigan, jeans, and boots were necessary.

10 Best Dressed at the Oscars

Did anyone watch the Oscars this past Sunday? Not going to lie, it might have been the craziest ceremony in entertainment history! I don't mean that Miley Cyrus performed one of her songs that involved a lot of twerking, that's a different kind of crazy. What I mean by crazy is that there was another cringe-worthy moment when they announced Best Picture. At first, the presenter Warren Beatty announced that La La Land had won the big award of the night, but it turns out that the envelope he read was actually for Emma Stone's Best Actress Award for her performance in La La Land and the Best Picture winner was actually Moonlight. Whoops! The media has been going crazy for over twenty-four hours now, it may been one of the biggest fails in entertainment history ever! To be honest, I was trying so hard not to laugh, and I think Jimmy Kimmel, the parts of the audience, and even Ryan Gosling were trying to hold back their giggles. I am imagining Steve Harvey somewhere right now smiling his pearly whites more than ever and feeling good about himself ...

Other than the awkward moment that everyone is still talking about, this year's Oscars ceremony was fantastic as always. I love seeing movie stars come together to celebrate the beauty of the cinema that takes us movie lovers into new worlds. Thankfully, there wasn't much talk political talk or controversies, although quite a few celebrities showed up with "Stand With ACLU" as a way of "protesting". Jimmy Kimmel did a really good job at hosting, especially when he let tourists come in during the ceremony and making candy, cookies, AND donuts fly down from the ceiling! I also laughed when he and Matt Damon continued their "feud", especially when Jimmy started playing the "Wrap It Up" music while Matt presented an award with Ben Affleck. It seriously believe that they actually are best friends in real, no doubt.

Of course, the one part of the Oscars that everyone looks forward to seeing is the bizarre and enchanting outfits on the red carpet, at least that's what fashionistas like me look forward to. There has been so many amazing dresses from every ceremony throughout Academy Award history, and this year may have had the most beautiful outfits yet! I think the fashion gets better as the years get older.

So in case you're wondering what my favorite outfits from this year's Oscars were, here are my top ten picks for best dressed!

1.) Karlie Kloss

Two words: Absolutely FLAWLESS! Karlie Kloss is one of my girl crushes and definitely one of the best fashion icons out there right now, so it's kind of necessary to put her as number one. The white gown with the long cape gave me snow queen vibes, and the sparkly choker adds a glamorous touch!

Designed By: Stella McCartney

2.) Felicity Jones

Normally I prefer to see longer dresses on the Oscars red carpet, but this was so pretty that I couldn't not put it on my top ten favorites list. It is definitely the perfect ballerina princess look, so magical and ravishing! I honestly would have worn this to prom or homecoming if I saw it in a store during high school.

Designed By: Dior

3.) Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy is so gorgeous that she could wear a trash bag to the red carpet and she would still rock it! I really love this white gown goddess look, kind of like Karlie Kloss's dress but with a lot more glitter and one leg showing off. I also think that her and her hubby John Legend were one of the hottest and most adorable couples last night, and also of all of Hollywood!

Designed By: Zuhair Murad

4.) Emma Stone

No doubt, one of the most gorgeous and stylish redheads out there. I love this shiny old-fashioned Hollywood look, it's kind of as if she's almost playing off of La La Land as a reference! She really did look drop-dead gorgeous, and I'm so thrilled that she finally won an Oscar that she has deserved for a long time!

Designed By: Givenchy

5.) Naomie Harris

So sexy and glamorous at the same time. Not only did I like her white pearly sequin dress but I also liked how her bright yellow heels were mismatched with the sparkly vamp on one shoe and the sparkly strap on the other, kind of rebellious! I also really liked how her hair was sleek and straight, very simple yet stunning.

Designed By: Calvin Klein

6.) Nicole Kidman

Nicole always looks both classy and daring, and that's one of the reasons why I love her taste in style. My favorite thing about this dress is the hand-embroidered lace overlay and apricot shade combined, so stunning. I also saw that the back straps can be altered, as at the beginning of the show they were strapped to both the right and left back parts each but then later on she altered them into a tie, how cool! Fashion works in mysterious yet amazing ways.

Designed By: Armani Prive

7.) Charlize Theron

Charlize always deserves the award for best dressed at every entertainment event, she never fails! I really like the green metallic material of the gown, plus her long diamond chandilier earrings look incredible with her look!

Designed By: Dior

8) Jessica Biel

Gold was so popular with fashion at this year's Oscars, which makes sense because the trophies are gold. Jessica Biel is such a beautiful human being, and no doubt did she look like a beautiful ancient queen in this glamorous gold gown. Plus, I LOVE her husband Justin Timberlake, and they are also one of the cutest celebrity couples in all of Hollywood. I mean, look at the photo below if you want proof!

Designed By: Kaufmanfranco

9.) Taraji P. Henson

I love how she is following the velvet trend from this past fall, and I still long to own something in my wardrobe made from velvet! Hidden Figures also is now one of my favorite movies of all time, I just had to put that out there.

Designed By: Alberta Ferretti

10.) Brie Larson

Brie Larson Oscars 2017.jpg

Looks like someone brought some va-va-voom back to Hollywood! Everyone knows that black goes with everything and looks glamorous no matter what. I also really like long funky flow of the skirt at the bottom, it gives a spunky vibe to the look. Everyone should also know that spunk is a great quality to have, I certainly know that!

Designed By: Oscar del la Renta

BONUS: Jennifer Aniston

This may be the sexiest dress that Jen was worn to the Oscars, maybe even to all award shows in general! She did not walk the red carpet before the snow, but presented the "In Memoriam" segment and attended the Vanity Fair after-party. She looked sexier than ever in a black sequin gown showing off some major leg. What possibly could Rachel Green wear and not pull off?!

10 Best Dressed at the Grammys

You may have noticed that I posted my last Tuesday Ten about the Golden Globes just recently, but that was only because I stupidly realized that I haven't even published it yet even though I already thought I did. Oh well, that's what I get for balancing my college and blog life. Now you can read it after reading this one!

This is actually my first Grammys red carpet top ten. I have always enjoyed watching the Grammys, but I was not as in to it as the Oscars and Golden Globes. I decided to watch it this more and honestly it might have been one of my favorites! Despite the few political remarks made during the ceremony, I thought it was put together fantastically. The performances were incredible (Adele's definitely got the waterworks running), the tribute to Prince was phenomenal, the winners' reactions and speeches were so sweet and heartwarming (especially Chance the Rapper's speech about God), and James Corden was an amazing host!

Of course, I never will hesitate to write a recap about some of my favorite outfits from the red carpet and ceremony. What is a fashion blog without reviews on celebrity fashion? Some are saying that this year's Grammys was the most craziest when it came to the fashion! So to get to the real talk, here are my top ten picks for best dressed at the Grammys!

1.) Jane Finley

For those who don't know who she is, she is a native of Northeast Ohio and currently battling with cancer. She got to partake in the Make-A-Wish Foundation and wished to go to the Grammys, and her wish was miraculously granted! I don't know her personally, but I was so happy when I found out and now I really want to be her friend and I'm praying for her! I don't have a picture of her gown, but it was black and white and just absolutely stunning. She didn't even need any makeup, she looked so beautiful! #JaneStrong

2.) Adele

I'm so excited that I can finally include Adele on a list for my favorite red carpet looks, and tonight was the perfect night to do so! The green gown went perfect with her ginger locks and the pattern/design, consisting of beads and lace. It looked so artsy and made her stand out. There may be no nomination for Best Dressed, but the award would totally go to her!

Designed By: Givenchy

3.) Carrie Underwood

Once a country princess, always a country princess! My favorite singer never fails to slay in fashion on the red carpet, and she did it once again in a red lace gown that made her look like a goddess queen! It's kind of funny actually because she somehow twinned out with Faith Hill who wore a very similar gown. Same color and same design but different fabric material.

Designed: Elie Madi

4.) Camilia Cambello

This silver embellished dress seriously makes her the belle of the ball. I really love the sparkly turtleneck collar and the sparkly floral designs located in random spots of the ballgown. The look was completed beachy hair and natural makeup. It all made her look like a princess out of a fairytale book!

Designed By: Miri Couture

5.) Lea Michele

I love crop tops, but sometimes they're a little too much for my taste in style. I think they look most fashionable and sexy with skirts, and Lea Michele looked amazing the way she pulled it off. It's almost hard to believe that she played a preppy and Broadway-obsessed high school student!

Designed By: Cavalli Couture

6.) Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea described her dress as "feminine and kind of girly, but the bodysuit makes it edgy", and I couldn't agree more. It looks like Mother Nature walked onto the red carpet and brought spring early!

Designed By: Ines Di Santo

7.) Demi Lovato

Cleopatra vibes right here definitely, I freaking love it.

Designed By: Julien MacDonald

8.) Jennifer Lopez

If we're being honest, I think the dress would look much better without the bow around the neck, it looks a bit too much and it almost looks kind of uncomfortable! Other than that, I think the shoes and the material, design, and lavender color of the dress make J-Lo look amazing. How is she almost fifty-years old but still looks like she's in her twenties?!

Designed By: Ralph & Russo Couture (dress) and Christian Louboutin (shoes)

9.) Maren Morris

It kind of looks like she's wearing a romper with draping three-part skirt on the bottom! It was definitely an eye-catching dress, especially with the plum color that makes it pops. I am also in love with her hair, it's so long and has amazing highlights! This look is definitely perfect for a country superstar like Maren, she looks like a freaking goddess!

Designed By: Michael Costello

10.) James Corden

The host with the most! James Corden is seriously so talented, he's easily one of the best talk show hosts and performers of our generation. It is a dream on my bucket list to attend one of his shows. For real though, he did such a fantastic job hosting the Grammys this year. The opening of the ceremony was just absolutely awesome and made me laugh! I also can't write without mentioning how handsome he looked, I mean look at that shiny tuxedo! Perfectly fit for a perfect host.

10 Best Dressed at the Golden Globes

(Written on January 10th, 2017)

Did anyone watch the Golden Globes this past Sunday? I thought it was pretty amazing as usual! I loved watching Jimmy Fallon host, it was a dream come true. I think he should be the host next year and the more years to come! And maybe Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can join him one of those times, that would be LIT.

January and February aren't really my absolute favorite times of the year (due to the weather outside), but the best part about the two months is that it's awards season in Hollywood! Well to be fair, it's awards season all year round for the celebrities, but this time of year is when they give about the biggest awards at the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild, and of course we cannot forget entertainment's biggest night of the year, the Academy Awards!

Since there has already been a lot of red carpet appearances and more to come soon, I decided to start looking out on the media to see the beautiful outfits that celebrities wear so that I can write down my top favorites. Now I give you the opportunity to check out my top ten picks for best dressed at the Golden Globe Awards!

1.) Anna Kendrick

Gray is such a soothing and elegant color, and Anna Kendrick pulls it off so well. I love the sheer-layered skirt and one-shoulder strap, it absolutely made her look ravishing. I also loved her wavy curls and burgundy lipstick. She looked and always will look enchanting!

Designed By: Vionnet

2.) Hailee Steinfeld

There's nothing that I love more than when a star looks like pure royalty when walking the red carpet, and Hailee Steinfeld exactly fulfilled my desire for that tonight! I especially love the lavender color tone, it absolutely fits the design of the dress and her skin tone, and she looks even more like a princess with her beautiful hair pinned into a fancy low updo.

Designed By: Vera Wang

3.) Blake Lively

The mother of two never fails to wow the paparazzi, and tonight she absolutely slayed with her fashion sense! I also have to say that she, Ryan Reynolds, and their two daughters are the cutest family in Hollywood and possibly the entire world to exist. I just had to spit that out.

Designed By: Versace

4.) The Final Five (Three)

They started off as gold medalist and now they're the golden girls (minus two)! The three ladies looked so stunning with their voluminous hair and goddess dresses. They each deserve a Golden Globe trophy for best dressed! Plus, I love how they kind of went for the red, white, and blue look to represent America! Aly Raisman in coral red, Simone Biles in metallic gold white, and Madison Kocian in blue of course!

(Aly) Designed By: Rita Vinieris

(Simone) Designed By: Alexis Monsanto

(Madison) Designed By: Faviana

5.) Gina Rodriguez

How could you not fall in love with this look? Gina was definitely on the top of the list for best-dressed! I love the shimmery and pop-star vibe she pulled off, so sexy and elegant all at once!

Designed By: Naeem Khan

6.) Emma Stone

I love how she totally went for the "City of Stars" look which makes perfect sense since her movie La La Land was nominated. She definitely is a Hollywood princess! 'm even more happy that she won her first Golden Globe, and her speech was so incredible! Forever she will be one of my favorite actresses of all time.

Designed By: Valentino

7.) Lily Collins

What's better than a bouquet of roses? A dress covered in a dozen of roses! I'm most definitely obsessed with this fairytale-look with the pastel color and floral design. She looked magical that night no doubt. I think it's safe to say that she is definitely the modern-day Audrey Hepburn!

Designed By: Zuhair Murad

8.) Brie Larson

The perfect image of old-fashioned Hollywood glamour. Brie looked extremely lovely at last year's ceremony in her gold dress, and she looks twice as beautiful this year. Red is such a stunning color on her, both the dress and lip color make the perfect bold look. I love it, bold is beautiful!

Designed By: Rodarte

9.) Mandy Moore

I'm kind of liking the sophisticated yet dark vibe that this dress displayed, and she wears it very well. I am mostly in love with the long sheer cape on the back of the dress. Plus, her diamond teardrop earrings match the dress and hair perfectly. I also heard that this was the second dress she tried on for fitting, and I can most definitely see why she wanted this one!

Designed By: Naeem Khan

10.) Emily Ratajkowski

I'm never been a great fan of flashy dresses that reveal a little too much, but there's something about this dress that is so sexy and gorgeous. First off, I think yellow looks fabulous on her and goes well with her short brunette locks. I also admire the sparkly collar that goes down to the cutout of the dress like a suit tie. She definitely looked like a goddess and never fails to look flawless!

The New Year

As they say, new year = new me! Although, I am still pretty much the same person as of right now, and I hope to be forever more.

I cannot believe we are already in 2017, time just flies by! It feels like yesterday was February of 2015 when I was almost done with my senior year in high school and I found out that Emma Watson was going to play Belle in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Since then, I have been anticipating for 2017 to come just so I could see the movie! Now it's already the middle of January this year and the movie comes out in less than sixty days!

Of course, I'm excited for much more this year than just one highly anticipated movie. I will be turning twenty-one in May, I'll finally be legally allowed to drink wine and that's something worth celebrating! My sister is also graduating college that same month, so I'm very excited to watch her receive her diploma and make success in the upcoming future. Plus, I finally got approval to start Malone University's first ever fashion club! I cannot wait to start planning meetings and cool events for the campus. It was also give me a great opportunity to prove myself as a leader!

And on a little side note, Amine's song "Caroline" has over 68 million views on YouTube for its music video, so for me that's pretty cool to have my name in a song title popular worldwide!

But truly, my biggest goal for this new year is to become not only a better person but a better version of myself. I consider myself a kind person to begin with, but I want to work on being more giving and considerate of other people's feelings. I want to volunteer more, stand up for others more, and be an inspiring leader to others. I also want to take action this year by becoming more bold and overcoming my anxiety as well as helping other people who struggle with mental health issues.

I know my anxiety will never go away fully, everyone lives with some extent of anxiety. But this year I want to make it my goal to worry less and to enjoy the moments that I am in before they pass. I become so emotionally exhausted when my anxiety level rises, and it makes it harder to confront people even if they are friends or relatives. I also compare myself with other people way too much. It's not good for mental health at all, especially since God is the one who made me in His image just the way He wants me to be.

I also get so overwhelmed with time management, even when I'm not that busy. With anxiety, it feels like you have one thousand things to get done when in reality you only have two or three. It also always feels like you're forgetting something important, such as a big homework assignment or something you were supposed to pack for a trip. I believe that if I begin to let my anxiety go a little more, I won't feel like my life is constantly unbalanced. I do also want to work on my time management, that could be really beneficial!

I really do believe that this can be the year that I control my anxiety and show off my bolder side. I often worry that I'm too much of a people-pleaser and it might make other people believe that I'm weak and will say yes to anything and anyone, but that is definitely not true. I have a voice and I can stand and speak what's on my mind. If you know me personally, you know how strong I am (and very sassy). My college friends have once referred to me as "spunky", and that honestly is one of my favorite words that I have ever heard someone use to describe me. I like being spunky because it means that I am a very confident and positive person, even though sometimes I don't feel that way. I want to continue to be spunky, as well as gain more spunk by the end of the year!

Even though I know that I am a positive person on the outside and inside, I need to improve my positive attitude. There are many times when I am doubting myself and it feels like there is no hope left inside of me. I know God has big plans for me, and I need to trust Him.  Therefore when I put faith in Him, I need to be positive. I will begin to focus on seeing the glass half full rather than empty and not let any form of negativity bring me down.

To sum up, my main resolution for this year is to be more mentally healthy and to give myself more freedom of choice. But of course I have many minor resolutions as well, such as travel to new places, eat healthier, do more meditation practices, make new friends, pray more, read more, help others, get better grades, work hard to make my blog grow, work hard in general, take time to relax, and to continue to follow my passions. I really do believe that many of my biggest dreams will be accomplished this year. All it takes is a little bit of faith and dedication!

2016 was by far the best year of my life, despite many people saying that it was a terrible year. Honestly, I have to disagree. I'm also pretty sure that 1665 was a lot worse when everyone caught the plague and died. Just saying.

The way I see it is that as I grow older, I think the years get better. So many memories and accomplishments are made and the upcoming years offer even more exciting opportunities to look forward to. I am determined that 2017 will be an amazing year with plenty of new chances, accomplishments, memories, and a great opportunity to start becoming a better person and to live a happier and more healthy life.

Just remember to live in the moment as much as possible this year will fly by, and I'm serious! I couldn't believe how fast 2016 was! When you take time to appreciate every wonderful new day that God has gifted you with, you will start to live life to the fullest. I believe that is what everyone's new years resolution should be.

Once Upon A December

There's something about the month of December that is so wondrous and enchanting, and that's not only because of the holiday season. Despite the fact that the cold weather can be irritating, it is still a beautiful month that must be cherished, especially since it's the last month of the year.

As 2017 comes around the corner and the chills start to grow, I'm taking my time to absorb the last days of December as much as possible. For Christmas, I got a lot of new outfits and accessories that I am very excited to share, and I want to show them soon before I go back to school in two weeks!

One of the gifts I got, and probably my most favorite, is an open-shoulder dress from Anthropologie. I love the material, the color, and how comfortable it is, it's not super tight at all. I'm happy that I now have an open-shoulder outfit considering that it's one of the most popular trends in the fashion world right now. It's a perfect outfit for December and the rest of the winter, it might even be good to wear every season if it's not too hot!

This jewelry may not be recently new, but it still looks fabulous with the dress. You don't want to go overboard with accessorizing, just keep it simple. Both the earrings and necklace are from Francesca's.

I'm so in love with my new wedges from Anthropologie, great for the winter and perfect timing for when summer comes around! They are very comfortable and keep feet warm in the chilly weather. I'm relieved because these were the last shoes available and they came in my size, it was meant to be! There's many other similar shoes at the retail that you can find if you are interested, along with other stylish types of shoes as well.

Flutter Girl

Is it Thanksgiving break yet?!

For real though, I'm so excited to go home for a five day weekend with my family, including my sister who I haven't seen in a while. There's so many traditions during the break that I love, including seeing a new movie (either Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or Moana hopefully!), watching the Macy's Day Parade, a heavy delicious meal, and getting all decorated for Christmas! If there's one thing that is difficult about a holiday break, it's picking out an outfit to wear for the big day.

Usually I just go for a fancy dress that I can't wear too often, unless there's a few non-dress outfits that I want to wear instead. But this year, I found the perfect dress!

I got this dress from J. Crew, and it was originally around a hundred dollars. Luckily, it was on sale when I bought it and it was eighty dollars. Still expensive, but totally worth it! It's a flutter dress, with a gray-colored ponte knit material, grosgrain ribbon details, and a flirty skirt to bring out a feminine look that's perfect for a holiday party. I also love the plain black back of the top part!

For shoes, I always have my go-to classic pumps from J. Crew to go perfectly with the dress. If it's a little cold that day, simple black tights would also be a great match for the look.

And a hot pink wallet from Kate Spade, because why not? Makes the color-tone of the outfit pop a bit!

When it comes to makeup and hair, I would just go for a natural look with natural eyeshadow, eyeliner, and maybe a bright or dark lip shade. Curly hair is also great too, but if you want to try out a different hairstyle that is perfectly okay as well. You can do whatever you want with your nail polish, whether you want to keep them clear or paint them the same color of your lipstick.

I wouldn't wear a lot of jewelry either, at least no necklaces with this kind of dress. Chandelier-like earrings would be perfect, and a few rings and simple bracelets.

I hope this was helpful for anyone who is having a hard time trying to find the perfect holiday outfit, and I really hope everyone eats lots of turkey this year! Happy Thanksgiving!
