Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

It breaks my heart to say goodbye to summer and wait until next year for the warmth and sunshine to return to Ohio. However, I now look forward to the simple pleasures of fall. For me, I find it easy to transition from summer to fall because it's not like transitioning from summer to winter. You don't have to dress in super heavy clothing to beat off the chilly weather, but you still have more options rather than just throwing on shorts, flip flops, or a maxi dress.

I think this outfit consisting of a tank, jeans, simple heels, and a diamond choker is a good fashionable transition from summer to fall. I'm in love with this new black velvet top from Francesca's which fits well for autumn and actually kind of has Halloween witch vibes, and witches are one of my favorite things about the holiday! I'm also very happy because believe or not, this is the first clothing item made of velvet material that I own, and I've been so anxious to finally have something made of velvet to wear!

On a side note, even though I'm not a huge fan of the Kardashian family empire, I feel a lot like Kendall Jenner with this top because it looks like something she would wear. Just throwing that out there.

Autumn will have times in which you'll need to throw on a jacket of some sort if it gets too chilly, which is great for this outfit. The black tank goes with anything, whether that may be a knit cardigan or a leather jacket. Look how perfectly matched the tank and jacket from Cecico in the picture below look, it shows off a cool greaser vibe!

The outfit looks great with any hairstyle, as you can see how I chose to wear my hair in a braid. I'll say that for the majority of outfits I talk about, but this one especially looks killer with any hairstyle, whether the hair is down or pinned back.

I could rave about these ripped boyfriend jeans for about half of this post even though I've blogged about them before. They're absolutely comfy, trendy, and a little voguish. Now they're only $35 at American Eagle where I originally bought them from for $50, so now's the right time to purchase them before they go out of stock! Although I'm sure you'll find plenty of other similar pairs for great deals.

And of course, I will never get over these classic black pointed toe pumps from J. Crew which I've probably blogged about at least ten times by now. They go with everything and always look classy and stylish no matter what, especially with the black velvet tank and jeans! Although if you're going to be walking around somewhere with open wooden floors, I recommend to reconsider wearing them (coming from personal experience while taking these pictures).

Summer has been quite a treat, and I'm already anxious for the sunny season to come back. But for now, I am going to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of autumn while it lasts (hey, that rhymes!) And on a positive note, there's only 110 more sleeps till Christmas, YAY! Although I'm in no rush, 2017 is going by way too fast.

Make sure to subscribe and keep up to date with my blog because I have a bunch of fall-related fashion and lifestyle posts coming, so be on the lookout! Happy September XOXO

Is it Thanksgiving break yet?!

For real though, I'm so excited to go home for a five day weekend with my family, including my sister who I haven't seen in a while. There's so many traditions during the break that I love, including seeing a new movie (either Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or Moana hopefully!), watching the Macy's Day Parade, a heavy delicious meal, and getting all decorated for Christmas! If there's one thing that is difficult about a holiday break, it's picking out an outfit to wear for the big day.

Usually I just go for a fancy dress that I can't wear too often, unless there's a few non-dress outfits that I want to wear instead. But this year, I found the perfect dress!

I got this dress from J. Crew, and it was originally around a hundred dollars. Luckily, it was on sale when I bought it and it was eighty dollars. Still expensive, but totally worth it! It's a flutter dress, with a gray-colored ponte knit material, grosgrain ribbon details, and a flirty skirt to bring out a feminine look that's perfect for a holiday party. I also love the plain black back of the top part!

For shoes, I always have my go-to classic pumps from J. Crew to go perfectly with the dress. If it's a little cold that day, simple black tights would also be a great match for the look.

And a hot pink wallet from Kate Spade, because why not? Makes the color-tone of the outfit pop a bit!

When it comes to makeup and hair, I would just go for a natural look with natural eyeshadow, eyeliner, and maybe a bright or dark lip shade. Curly hair is also great too, but if you want to try out a different hairstyle that is perfectly okay as well. You can do whatever you want with your nail polish, whether you want to keep them clear or paint them the same color of your lipstick.

I wouldn't wear a lot of jewelry either, at least no necklaces with this kind of dress. Chandelier-like earrings would be perfect, and a few rings and simple bracelets.

I hope this was helpful for anyone who is having a hard time trying to find the perfect holiday outfit, and I really hope everyone eats lots of turkey this year! Happy Thanksgiving!

Professional Fashion

Though summer is the best time of the year to take a break from practically the world, there is still work to keep busy with and to make money. This summer, I am working as an intern at Gojo Industries, Inc. It is a private headquarters in which they manufacture hand hygiene and skin care products, including their bestseller Purell. This is my second summer working there, and I am glad to be an intern again! about it! My dad is a sales manager for the company, so a lot of the people I will be working with know me very well and are flexible with my work hours and such. I will only be working three times each week, so that's a bonus, too! An internship is extremely valuable to future reference, and one of my major keys to doing the job right is dressing for success!

Pleather Weather

I believe pleather/leather material in outfits look very professional. They may not be the comfiest, but they sure make a job well-done! One of my main outfits that I have planned to wear for some of my work days is this brown pleather pencil skirt that I bought from Ann Taylor (for a very good deal!) I am very happy because this may be my most professional-looking one that I can easily pull of for both work and parties. The material is really good too, and I love the dark brown color. It goes with pretty much everything, heck wear a big lazy T-shirt and rock any occasion!

For the top part, I have a black pocket shell tank from the LOFT. I managed to get it on sale, and it's perfect for this summer. I love the soft, loose material and the V-neck line. It can literally match anything, including pants, shorts, and skirts. I think I saw Anna Kendrick wear a very similar shirt in Pitch Perfect 2

Brown and black make a good color combo, so it's a smart idea to make your shoes the same color. Here I am wearing my infamous yet classic black pumps from J. Crew. They are a pain in the A-word to walk in, but they sure make any outfit a 10/10!

Finally for accessories, I think it's best to keep this outfit simple with some of my favorite Alex and Ani gold bracelets and a cute gold initial bar pendant necklace from Urban Outfitters. Less is more!

"Checked"

I may have only put this on this blog as an excuse to wear it, but it can be revenant for business fashion, too! I am absolutely obsessed with this check-print maxi dress that I bought from Zara during my trip to New York City. Zara is one of my mom, sister, and I's favorite stores to shop at. It has the most classiest and fashionable clothes ever. It's actually where Kate Middleton shops, so we it's awesome to know that we have the same taste in style! I love this dress because it's very comfy, I love the pattern, and I think the cut-out part on the right bottom is very chic. It's a perfect long dress that you can wear for almost anything, even church!

For shoes, I again choose my classic black pumps from J. Crew. WARNING: If you are planning to work somewhere that involves a lot of walking around, these shoes may not be the best comfort option!

For the final touch, I choose to wear my long gold necklace with a stick-like thing. My cousin bought it for me from Francesca's, I think, for Christmas and I wear it all the time. I also have on blue teardrop earrings from Francesca's also. They kind of remind me of Princess Peach's earrings!

 Summer Lovin'

My last outfit choice fits very well for both work and summer. I love wearing black and white clothes the most because they go with everything. You could wear sparkly technicolor shoes with large diamonds and they still would look good! I just bought this contrast-trim dress from New York & Company, which was on sale for only twenty or thirty dollars. This is one of my favorite purchases I have ever made for the summer, and I'm so excited to wear it for my internship and other fun events! I recommend wearing a black or colorful belt with this, it makes it look even more dandy.

I couldn't tell you how long I've ha these big sunglasses for, but they're still in good shape! I bought these cat eye frames from Ann Taylor a few years ago. I am planning on getting new sunglasses for the summer, but I still really like this pair. The bigger the better!

These red and black heels actually belong to Natalie, and luckily we wear the same size shoe! They are from Michael Kors, and they are a great combination of classic and professional!

Finally, my bag is from Harrods, an upmarket department store located in London (as you can tell by the design). This is not on of my best purses for work use, but I haven't used it in a while and I thought it would look really good with the dress. It's nice because it's a fun purse full of color, a fancy design, and a fun theme. Who doesn't like London?!

And of course, I couldn't leave out my one and only snazzy watch from Fossil, best accessory for any job!

Moral in Floral

Hey, guys!

Sorry for the long delay, I was so busy studying for final exams all last week and taking them this week. I'm so exhausted, literally. So much studying and writing to do in so little time! But thankfully, now they are all over and I am officially on summer break! Which means ... more blog posts! Yay!

On an even brighter, it is May! It's one of my favorite months. It's the the time of the year when spring really looks the most beautiful, no classes, the weather is a lot warmer, and it's my birthday month! I'm going to be turning twenty-years old in fifteen days, oh my word.

I have a ton of blog ideas planned for May as well as this coming summer, along with the help of my newly blogger partner, Natalie Hillyer! (Go check out her website http://www.lollilu.space and subscribe) I'm super excited for these next few months that I have off, so let me start off with a fresh new fashion blog for May!

This is my Saraid Dress that I bought from Anthropologie during my trip to New York City. I figured it would be perfect for May because of the floral design. It was made by HD in Paris, which is one of the store's biggest fashion designers. I love the colors, it's a good fit size, it's the bottom is very flowly, and I bought it for a very good price of $40!

I do not have any pictures of the shoes I am wearing, but I have on my black pumps from J. Crew. Depending on the occasion, any shoe that matches the colors or the event would be perfect.

As for jewelry, I do not think you need to accessorize too much with this outfit. I usually go for smaller amounts of jewelry pieces. Earrings, not too big or crazy. Rings, very simple. Bracelets, none (due to very long sleeves). Necklaces, I think this is a good dress to wear one with. But a big sparkly and colorful necklace probably would not be the best option. I recommend a simple chain with a pendant, like the one I am wearing down below. It's gold and has my first initial on it. I got it from Urban Outfitters, and I wear it all the time!

I feel so free after finishing this semester! College is tough, but I love it. Now I am ready for a nice, long summer break! So stay tuned for more posts to come! And remember, keep sparkling! :)
