Nothing feels better than a trip to the hair salon. It's so nice to get it trimmed, colored (which I highly thank my crazy talented hairdresser Molly Strover for making it a beautiful auburn balayage), and styled for the final touch to make it picture worthy. You can't help but feel like a celebrity walking out of the salon waiting for paparazzi to snap pictures!

Haircare is so important, especially if you have long, thick hair like mine. It can be a pain in the ass to take care of. Imagine trying to blow dry your hair for twenty minutes and the ends are still wet. No joke, it's a struggle!

But you can avoid frizzy or puffy long hair by taking the time to treat it with good shampoo and conditioner products. Molly tried out some brand new products by System Professional on me to see if it would work well with my hair, and the results were better than expected! Here are two of the products she used, and one that I have yet to try out myself:

Smoothen Shampoo

It's the perfect shampoo if you have dry, untamed hair that tends to get frizzy in humidity, which mine is keen to. You'll immediately notice the results after using it when you blow dry it and feel the soft, smooth texture. If there's anything us ladies with thick hair need more of, it's smooth hair that's easy to treat!

Hydrate Conditioner

IMG_2765.PNG

A healthy cream that is great to moisturize hair with on a daily basis. On the System Professional website, it is suggested to apply 1-2 pumps of the conditioner after shampooing and drying the hair with a towel. For better results, leave the conditioner in for thirty seconds before washing it out. If your hair tends to be more dry, it's recommended to combine the hydrate conditioner with a smoothen conditioner to improve the softness. Another great perk about this product is that men can also use it!

Hydrate Mask

This is the last product sample that I received. I haven't used a hair mask before, and I'm very excited to try it out. What you're basically supposed to do is put it in your hair after shampooing and leave it in for five minutes before conditioning it, which then you can save time in the shower by cleaning and rinsing your body, shaving your legs, etc. You're also supposed to use it only once a week, it's not mandatory to use it every time you take a shower. I think hair masks are great for anyone with long, thick hair, so I'm ready to try it out. If this hydrate makes my hair more soft and more manageable to style, then I'm definitely going to keep using it.

I can't wait to start using these products more often, I already love how smoother and stylish my hair feels (especially with my new color!) If you have any questions about what I used and about System Professional as a brand itself, comment down below or check out System Professional where you'll find tons of other hair products for all different types of hair textures (although you may want to talk to your hairdresser before you consider buying a product and see what they suggest would be best for you). You're guaranteed to find the one that's right for you!

Purple Dip Dye

You guys, this may be the most rebellious thing I have ever done ...

FullSizeRender.jpg

Okay, maybe not the most rebellious thing, but it definitely is a little out of my comfort zone! This is for sure the craziest thing I have ever done with my hair. My mom said she was going to start nicknaming me Prince/Purple Rain! Rest in peace.

Of course, as you can see I did not dye my entire hair purple, just the ends (as to why it's called "dip dying"). I love my natural brunette hair and I'm not brave enough to completely dye it all. For a while, I've been looking at photos on Pinterest with girls' dip dyed hair in different colors from the rainbow (some with rainbow dip dyed tips!) and I thought it looked like a good idea for me to try out for the summer. I originally wanted to dip dye my hair hot pink since it is my favorite color, but then I saw a few pictures of Selena Gomez with purple dip dyed hair and it looked so good on her. Plus, we practically have the same hair color so it makes sense.

I think purple was a much better decision because it blends so well with my dark hair and it's a lot easier to color. I kind of feel like a mystical fairy or mermaid. Or Nymphadora Tonks from Harry Potter

In order to make sure that the purple doesn't fade out completely, my hairdresser Molly gave me a conditioner by oVertone specifically for purple hair. It's important to use daily in the shower, especially after shampooing. Although if you have thick hair like me, you probably don't need to wash it every day. It may also be a good idea to have gloves for a backup just in case the bright color makes your hands stain. The conditioner works so well because it keeps the fantasy-like hair bright, it's like a normal conditioner but for bright colors, includes color-depositing formulas, is damage free, and is even vegan!

It's definitely going to take me a while to get used to having my hair a bit purple, but I do not regret my choice one bit. I got a chance to be bold and to have a little fun with my hair, plus Molly got to have her fun with coloring it! I want to give a big S/O to her and to M.C. Hair Consultants for giving me this new hairdo just in time for summer, I can't wait to go to the beach with my new black one piece bathing suit, sunglasses, and this bright rockin' new due!

As for my fellow readers, I encourage you to start this summer with a little dare! That doesn't mean that you have to dye your hair a crazy color. It can be as simple as traveling to somewhere new or even reading a book genre that normally wouldn't interest you. Whatever you can do to step outside your comfort zone a little bit, I promise it can be the most freeing and bravest step in your comfortable lifestyle!

LUSH Cosmetics Bath Bombs

For Christmas, my sister's boyfriend and I gave each other gifts for the first time! I got him a nice glass featuring Cleveland and its popular attractions/trademarks, and I think he really liked it. For my gift, he got me one of the coolest beauty products I have ever received: bath bombs from LUSH Cosmetics! Not only do they create bubbles for warm, relaxing baths but also colorful water. What's more cool than that?!

I got two bath bombs. One is named Intergalactic which is like bathing in a galaxy far, far away. The neon colors and sparkling cosmos make taking a bath like an interstellar experience! I couldn't figure out the name of the other bath bomb, but it is very rainbow-like turned into a flattering hot pink.

I first tried out the pink. I was super excited to use the galaxy one, but I decided to wait to use that last. At first, I thought it was going to turn into all rainbow bubbles (which it did for a few minutes), but then it dissolved into pink water. It still looked super cool and felt so relaxing! Pink is also my favorite color, so that's a bonus.

I finally got to use Intergalactic which I saved best for last. I've seen so many good reviews and cool pictures on social media, so I was super excited to give it a try myself! I never liked the idea of going into outer space, but feeling like I am soaking up warm water in deep space sounded pretty soothing and cool!

I tossed the bath bomb into the tub and it dissolved from regular water into neon colors and sparkly bright navy blue. It's hard to tell that there's glitter in the water shown in the pictures, but I can guarantee it was there and very out of this world!
