Classy & Sassy

I can't believe winter break is already over! I just moved back into my college dorm room last night and got everything situated. I feel very organized and I am on a good schedule with my classes so far, plus the best part was returning to all of my friends! It just feels weird that winter break just ended, it didn't even feel like three weeks! I do miss my home, family, and dogs. But I'm glad that I'm back at my second home, Malone University, and I am ready to tackle semester two!

For Monday's fashion blog, I did a photoshoot on Saturday with my sister Lauren at her 21st birthday party. She is a photography minor, and her pictures are absolutely amazing. If you ever have some time, check out her photography blog: Bold Rose

For the party, I wore my new turtleneck tank from Anthropologie. This shirt is absolutely comfortable and snazzy. I used to not be a big fan of turtlenecks, but now I wish I had more! If you're looking to find a good turtleneck, I highly recommend Anthropologie. They have all the perfect ones you could imagine.

My pants are from Ann Taylor. It's a little hard to tell but if you look closely, they are black leather.  They're a little uncomfortable to put on at first, but after a while they don't feel too tight. I even wore them to the movie theaters!

I didn't go too crazy with my accessories. I just picked some simple and charming pieces. If you look closely in the picture below, I'm wearing a long, gold necklace which I think might be from Francesca's, but I may be wrongWhen it comes to turtlenecks, I like wearing longer necklaces to fit perfectly on the neck piece. Plus, it focuses more on the shirt rather than the necklace.

I also wore my favorite bracelet from Pandora. No description on why Pandora is awesome needed.

I recently just bought a pair of black pumps from J. Crew, and it might be the best purchase I've ever made on any type of clothing! They were a bit pricy, but it was totally worth it to buy them. They literally go perfect with any dressy outfit. Dresses, pants, skirts, you name them!

Finally, for my earrings, I chose my diamond studs. I've had them for a while, so I can't remember exactly where I bought them from. They were very cheap, I will say that. You can most definitely purchase a similar pair from Francesca's, Charming Charlie's, Claire's, or Icing for less than ten bucks.

To sum up, I think this outfit is both classy and sassy, hence the title. It is very sophisticated, but has a sort of sexy tone to it. It's definitely perfect for parties and night outs, anywhere you go basically. Classy is the new sassy, and that's better than dressing trashy! (Don't mind my Dr. Seuss rhymes.)

Haute Hippie

Hey, guys! I'm so relieved my first semester is over. I do miss all of my college friends, but I'm just enjoying my three-week break with no class assignments or anything too busy. Because I am less busy than normally, I have more time to make more blog posts! Yay!

Yesterday my old high school had an alumni luncheon. I hadn't seen my friends and teachers in so long, so I wanted to dress to impress. Fashion has always been important to my identity, especially now that I'm in college and figuring out who I am. I want to be represented in my own confident way, and I believe everyone deserves to have their own kind of style that makes them unique and beautiful. I didn't want to show my high school friends and teachers that I changed but that I have grown

As you can tell by reading the title, my outfit is sort of hippie-like. Not considerably 1970's, but just very chic. My crochet dress comes from Francesca's, and it is currently my favorite dress that I own. It's super classy, sheek, and perfect for both warm weather and cold weather.

My favorite material of the dress would have to be the long and wide sleeves. I think they make the dress look very sophisticated, you can even spread them out and pretend to be a bird! Or a bat since it's black, but bats kind of scare me ...

As for shoes and leg cover-up, I picked my black booties from Steve Madden and black tights from Target. I also wore my glasses as my main accessory. These three essentials definitely gave the outfit a very hip-kind of look.

I honestly wouldn't wear too much accessories with this outfit, especially if you choose wear glasses like I did. If you choose not to wear glasses, a sparkly headband would look nice as well as small earrings and rings. Or you can also wear a large necklace instead of the headband as well.

Here I am spreading my arms and trying to look like I have wings!

This outfit actually made me feel sexy in a modest tone. I believe classy is the best way to express your identity in an intelligent way. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite actress/role model/fashion icon/everything, Emma Watson, is, "My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal, the more people can wonder." That quote always intrigued me because I love the idea of having a sense of pride and sophistication when dressing up. Nothing is more beautiful than a girl who doesn't give herself limits.

I hope this fashion post was interesting and inspiring in some way. I had a wonderful time dressing up and seeing everyone at my high school again! I can't wait to make more upcoming posts in the future over my three-week break, so stay tuned and thank you! :)

Winter Wonderland

Ugh, can Christmas come sooner??

I am currently prepping for finals, and it's just dreadful. But on the bright side, my holiday spirit is growing bigger now that Christmas break is just around the corner! Once I'm done with all these papers and exams, I won't have to worry about studying for classes for three weeks. Plus, I get to celebrate my favorite holiday and go to Florida for New Years!

On the other note, I took some time off of studying to post a winter-based outfit idea. I'm been waiting for a long time to show this outfit, I love it so much! It hasn't been super snowy in Ohio this December (which is super weird), but it's still a good idea to bundle up for the chill winter air.

The blouse and the skirt are both new and fresh from Francesca's, the store with the best outfits and jewelry in the world. The material in the blouse is super soft, it feels so comfortable and not tight. The skirt is super soft, too. It's also very flowy and has cute little snowflake designs. Nothing better than dressing for winter the fun way!

I forget where my infinity scarf is from which I feel  bad about. But I'm sure you can find very similar scarves with the same color or design, maybe you'll even find the actual one! If you do, please let me know!

My shoes are from Dillards while my black tights are from Target, which sells a variety of colors and brands. High boots are also good with this outfit, too!

I thought the telephone looked funny. Hahaha!

I have more winter-based outfit ideas yet to come, including some early summer ideas when I go to Florida after Christmas. Also stayed tuned for this week's Tuesday Ten with a list of my favorite Christmas movies to watch!

If you any blog ideas for me, comment down below and tell me what you would like to see! Have a safe and wonderful week, also good luck to college and high school students who are currently studying on finals!

Thanksgiving

Gobble gobble!

I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving and ate plenty of delicious food! I can be honest and say I ate three pieces of turkey, five crescents, and six pieces of my grandma's homemade stuffing along with dessert. At least these meals only happen once a year! Unless you live at Hogwarts and have feasts in the Great Hall everday ...

But aside from the food, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to be with friends and family, especially when everyone nowadays is busy at college and jobs. It's important to cherish these holiday moments with one another, so pick an outfit you'll remember being most happy in!

On Thanksgiving, I chose a new dress I bought from Express. It's a floral-designed purple long-sleeve. It works well for both spring time or in the fall, when the weather is perfectly mild. I love this dress because floral designs are my favorite. If you like dressing in flowers, this is the dress for you!

For my shoes, I simply chose a pair of black booties from Steve Madden. No reason needed, black goes with everything as long as it doesn't hurt your feet.

Preppy Chic(k)

Holla!

Sorry I haven't posted a new fashion blog in a while, these last few weeks were a little rough. I had a nasty cold that lasted for almost more than one week! I also had three midterm exams last week and a lot of assignments due at the same time. I tell ya, college is a toughie!

But now I'm not sick, all my midterm exams are caput, and I'm on fall break! Yay!

It's been wonderful to be back at home with my parents and dogs for four days, but the best part so far was going back to Lawrence Upper School (where I graduated from) to visit all my friends and teachers! So in order to look like a representable and official college girl, I decided to go for a preppy and chic style, my absolute favorite type of style!

College is a very preppy place I find, my sister Lauren's college Miami University was ranked as #1 preppiest school in the country! Good style must run in the family blood.

I once again wore my Urban Outfitters cardigan and Lauren Conrad boots from Kohl's. These are my two favorite pieces of fall clothing so far, I could wear them with anything!

My next addition included a black tank top from J. Crew, a maroon/black cooperative Christie skirt from Urban Outfitters, and black leggings from Lululemon, the best athletic apparel store in the universe.

To make the look even more preppy, I wore my Banana Republic glasses along with my Fossil watch and Lokai bracelet as accessories. Some people almost didn't recognize me when I went to visit my high school with my new frames!

And of course, I treated my craving for Starbucks with an iced vanilla latte. Even more preppy (and basic).

The weather wasn't too nippy, so I decided to take a picture of my clothes without the cardigan (and glasses). If you wore this outfit without the leggings or boots, it would be perfect for the summertime as well!

I now know what I'm wearing to my next country music concert ...

Fun fact, I wrote this blog while watching the new live-action version of Cinderella, and now all I wish is to write a blog about wearing a princess ballgown ... but one can dream, right?

Hope all of you lovely followers are having a wonderful fall season so far, and make sure you stay in touch with upcoming fashion posts! Happy October! :)

Hump Day

Guess what daaaaaaayyyyy it is!!!!

Hump Day of course, finally halfway towards the weekend! Writing papers, studying, and making speeches sure is hard to get done in such little time. But tonight I got the perfect opportunity to go out with my friends to a religious organization called "The United" and it is one of the coolest events I've ever been to!

So a night out with the ladies means that it was a night to dress up!

This is the second time I've worn my new Urban Outfitters cardigan, I freaking love it. It feels like being covered up in a cozy blanket, which is perfect for both a slightly cold day in the winter or a chilly summer night. I've gotten so much use out of it, and it has pockets!

Along with my cardigan, I chose to wear my Fiona dress from Ubran Outfitters as well, so it was a perfect combination! I love how flowy and comfortable the fabric is, it felt like I was wearing super stylish pajamas!

Now the shoes from Dillards on the other hand weren't as comfortable, but they matched perfectly with the cardigan. And as long as they looked good, my feet felt happy!

I didn't feel like putting on too much jewelry, so I just put the simple pieces which included my Fossil watch and Kate Spade necklace with my first name initial. Since my dress has a strap around the neck and a lot of polka dots, it's best to wear a simple necklace that brings out a more modest look.

It was very awesome night, mostly because I got to be with my friends and have a great time at United. Now it's time to get past these next two days!
