Bold Red

Red is one of my favorite colors because it is very bold. Bold is beautiful. I feel bold when I wear it in my shirt, shoes, dress, lips, nail polish, or jewelry. Also many girls who are redheads seem to have strong confidence and are not afraid to show off their boldness. Feisty redhead ladies who inspire me include Emma Stone, Julia Roberts, Molly Ringwald, Judy Garland, Ginny Weasley, Bonnie Wright (who played movie Ginny Weasley), and Ariel from The Little Mermaid. It's easy to agree that red is the hottest of all primary colors, it makes such a bold statement no matter what mood you are in.

I feel even more bold after wearing my new red Miami mock neck tank from Francesca's. The first thought that popped in my brain when seeing it on the clothing rack was, "Damn, this is one bold shirt!" My thought when trying it on for the first time was, "Damn, I feel super bold in this!" Now it's one of the many pieces hanging in my closet, and I feel like an even bolder fashionista. Plus, what better way to feel more bold and chic when posing next to scarlet flowers when wearing it?!

My other favorite thing about the tank is the mock neck. I've never been a fan of wearing turtlenecks, but I love the way the collar lines around the neck. It gives a nice feminine and sophisticated touch to the look.

Another clothing material I want to point out is my new crystal necklace, also from Francesca's. I've seen many girls wearing it lately, and they look so cool. I like the mythic and magical look to it, it looks like it came out of a fantasy tale!

Also rings! Loving my new big gold rings. The jeweled line one is from Francesca's and the solid rectangle one is from Charming Charlie's. Of course, I can't forget my silver Irish Claddagh ring! Don't worry, it's not an engagement ring (sigh). It simply just states whether you are in a relationship or not. If the crowned heart is facing up, you are dating. If the crowned heart is facing down, you are single. And mine is facing down, so therefore I am not in a relationship at the moment (sigh again).

My nails are even painted a dark red to match the tone of the shirt!

What color looks fabulous with red or any other color, besides gold and silver? Black, of course! What completes a red mock neck tank in the summertime? A pair of black shorts from Ann Taylor and black wedges from Dolce Vita!

Does red make you feel bold? Or is there another color that brings out your confidence? Whatever color that may be, never be afraid to show it off because you rock it so well!

Out with the old, in with the bold!

California Girl

The more I see or hear the word "California", the more I wish I was back in paradise. My mom and I are already talking about what we want to do the next time we visit the Golden State (hint: Disneyland is in the top ranks!) I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite places for our summer vacation, and I am already looking forward to the next adventure.

California is known to have over 87,000 jobs in the fashion industry, even surpassing New York's fashion district workforce. Los Angeles is one of the biggest cities that has inspired "California-cool" fashion trends throughout the world. When packing for the trip, my first thoughts were what outfits would be perfect to share on the blog. So here are two of my best outfits from the trip!

California Dreamin'

Mid-length maxi dresses and the beachy atmosphere make a perfect combo. California is the perfect place to wear a maxi dress all year round. Luckily I bought this flounce lace dress from Anthropologie at the beginning of June, just in time for the trip. I love the elegance of this dress, it almost looks more cocktail-like but still great for casual occasions. It has a confident statement for the girl in the outfit and leaves onlookers in wonder. It's also perfect for both summer and winter, you can easily get a lot of use out of it.

Since the outfit is a simple black, you can go all out with accessories. I picked my feather-like chandelier earrings from Francesca's, Alex and Ani bracelets, Lokai bracelets, and a turquoise stretch bead bracelet (similar to a Lokai).

Finally, what is a sunny vacation without sandals?! Here is a pair of my two-year old jeweled snake sandals from Dillard's. Thankfully I had nail polish to match the jewels and cover up my toe nails!

The best part, palm trees make a perfect background!

Sun's Out, Shorts Out

I don't really like adding too much detail to my fashion blogs, so I'll try to keep this one as "short" as possible.

Shorts, tanks, and flip flops are an obvious must for an eighty-degree adventure. These white sailor shorts and black pocket shell tank top, both from the LOFT, together form a sophisticated summer gal look. Add some accessories including Ray Ban half-frames, a bar necklace, watch, bracelets, an Italian handbag, and easy-to-walk-in flip flops and you'll be fashionably ready to explore!

Anthro All The Way

I may have a bit of an obsession with Anthropologie ....

I'm not kidding, I feel like I'm going to become broke if I keep shopping there! It's just so hard to resist, they have so many fashionable and classy outfits to choose from! Every time I go there, I literally walk out with a new purchase for my wardrobe. I so wish I owned Anthropologie so that I could wear and own everything that existed in that store!

Recently, I did have the opportunity to buy some new fun outfits for this summer, and I am in love with every purchase I have made. You have probably seen my blue shirtdress which I posted about in my last fashion blog, Summer Lovin', bought from Anthropologie and no regrets from buying it! I also bought a beautiful black lace dress recently while on a recent weekend trip to Chicago (the world's second biggest Anthropologie!), which I will try to post in the next following week or two. For this blog, I will be sharing a few purchases that make one perfect outfit together, from neck to ankle!

The majority of this outfit is from Anthropologie, minus jewelry, shoes, and clutch. I have an emerald mock-neck sway tank, which has a nice waistline and flow on the bottom. I also have boyfriend jeans, and these are seriously the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever owned. They almost feel like I'm wearing sweatpants, but in reality I can wear with anything and to wherever! Finally, to complete the Anthropologie collection, I have on a primavera patchwork loop scarf that came with the emerald top. Normally I don't wear scarves often in the summertime, but this one is a big yes for my summer collection!

This outfit is great for casual parties/events or for work days, but only on Fridays in some places (depending on the company's policy). It's even more perfect for anyone who happens to work at an Anthropologie store, you will be a perfect representative! And maybe get a few discounts ...

I've had these shoes for over a year now, I wore them for my high school graduation. They are Jessica Simpson sandal wedges, which I bought from Macy's. I love the red/orange color of the straps, and they're not super uncomfortable. I don't believe they still have these exact shoes anymore, but you could probably find other pairs online or at the store that are just as cute!

On a bonus note, the shoes also go perfect with my orange clutch, which have fun reptile or mermaid-like scales/texture. Unfortunately, I do not know where this clutch is from because my aunt gave it to me. But there has to be a million clutches or bags out that are just as cute and have the same type of material.

I did have a pair of half-frame sunglasses from Urban Outfitters, but I accidentally broke them while carrying them in a bag, whoops. But luckily, I had a coupon for Sunglass Hut that allowed me to buy a fresh new pair of tortoise half-frames made by Ray Ban, and I love them so much! It was so worth the purchase, and they look and feel much nicer than my old frames!

Finally, the last clothing item I would like to share is my new pair of sparkly chandelier earrings from Francesca's. I like them because they have a feather-type shape and have a hippie-look to it. A few of my girlfriends from my dorm at college had similar earrings, which made me want some of my own. Now I have the perfect pair to rock along with my fabulous friends!

Hump Day

Guess what daaaaaaayyyyy it is!!!!

Hump Day of course, finally halfway towards the weekend! Writing papers, studying, and making speeches sure is hard to get done in such little time. But tonight I got the perfect opportunity to go out with my friends to a religious organization called "The United" and it is one of the coolest events I've ever been to!

So a night out with the ladies means that it was a night to dress up!

This is the second time I've worn my new Urban Outfitters cardigan, I freaking love it. It feels like being covered up in a cozy blanket, which is perfect for both a slightly cold day in the winter or a chilly summer night. I've gotten so much use out of it, and it has pockets!

Along with my cardigan, I chose to wear my Fiona dress from Ubran Outfitters as well, so it was a perfect combination! I love how flowy and comfortable the fabric is, it felt like I was wearing super stylish pajamas!

Now the shoes from Dillards on the other hand weren't as comfortable, but they matched perfectly with the cardigan. And as long as they looked good, my feet felt happy!

I didn't feel like putting on too much jewelry, so I just put the simple pieces which included my Fossil watch and Kate Spade necklace with my first name initial. Since my dress has a strap around the neck and a lot of polka dots, it's best to wear a simple necklace that brings out a more modest look.
