It's-A Me, Caroline!

If you're an early or late 90s baby like me, you probably understand the reference to the title of this post. And if you're wondering how exactly I came up with that title, it's because this new outfit from Urban Outfitters totally makes me feel like Super Mario! I mean it's pretty obvious, all you need is a red top and denim overalls (and a mustache and red baseball cap with a "M" on it, which unfortunately I have neither). I'm almost all set for Halloween now!

I really feel like I jumped back into my childhood, around the late 90s and early 2000s. Super Mario and those other Nintendo games were the shit back then!

This is definitely one of my new favorite spring/summer outfits. It's so cute, fun, and allows me to embrace the child that is still within me! Just because you grow up and become more responsible and independent doesn't mean that you lose the kid at heart, or at least if you don't want to. In fact, being a kid at heart makes life so much more positive and upbeat. It's also helps to be nostalgic for your happiness. This outfit reminds me of when I would go to my grandparents' house in Lima as kid and play Super Mario 64 nonstop (mainly because I would try to make it up the never ending stairs, if you know what I'm referring to), that was definitely one of my favorite moments from my childhood. I love being nostalgic and remembering the good times!

Don't be afraid to let out your inner child, whether through fashion, personality or both. Whatever generation you come from, embrace it and let out your energetic mini you heart!

Catch Ya on the Flippity Flop

Happy Saturday! 

The title of this post is so relevant because I'm sharing a new pair of flip flops from Vionic by Lucky Shoes! Online dictionaries define the term "flippity flop" as "with a flip and a flop", such as tumbling down the stairs. For this case; however, I'm referring to my new chic shoes!

I collaborated with Vionic back in February for their "Discover The Secret" campaign, and I'm happy to announce that I'm collaborating with them again this June! I'll give you more details and insight about it later on in the post, but first I'm gonna tell you about my new bad boys (shoes). 

I absolutely adore these sandals. They are by Vionic Shoes and are called Farra sandals. I love the red shiny material, but the best and most unique feature is the disc-ornamented gold. I feel like Cleopatra! Not only are the shoes super comfortable but every strap is adjustable with hook-and-loop closures, including the back strap! And even better yet, they match perfect with the shirt and shorts I'm wearing (both from J. Crew). That's always a nice perk. 

And since I got the shoes and took these pictures on National Wine Day, a glass (or three) of oaky 2016 Resolute Chardonnay was a necessary treat! 

Now coming back to the collaboration announcement. I have some exciting news for you shoe lovers ... Vionic by Lucky Shoes has opened their second store in the USA at Crocker Park in Westlake, OH! The first store opened in 2017 at Fairlawn. They're also hosting a special opening for their flip flop collection, "Vionic Flip-Flop Day", on June 16th, and I'm one of the local Cleveland fashion bloggers that gets to attend the big event!

I'm super thrilled to be a part of this, especially since I love Vionic and their products. The event is going to be spectacular and filled with tons of excitement. Liam Bourke, the on-air personality for Vionic, will be in attendance for an exclusive meet and greet. Guests will also receive a premium gift with any Vionic shoe purchase, while supplies last. Summertime Funk

This is my favorite time of the year right now, other than Christmas. It’s the time of year between spring and summer. The heat is not super dreadful (although after a long ass winter, it doesn’t really matter), the flowers are still blooming, and the sun is always shining. It’s also nice during this time with no classes and work if you have a summer internship that doesn’t start right after you get out. I’m still busy as a bee when it comes to blogging and preparing for my summer internship. But while I still have some time off, I’m trying to soak in everything as much as I can. 

You wanna know what I'm enjoying especially these days besides the weather? This super funky new outfit from ZAFUL! It's a two piece pants set with orange, white, blue and navy stripes. The top is very bikini-like with a long soft belt that you can tie into a bow. And of course, we have the long hippy pants to create a summertime funk!

I like the idea of "summertime funk". It's a great time of year to go all out and be unique for fun times such as outdoor festivals, Fourth of July parties, pool parties, and so much more. Even though there are not as many clothing options with the hot weather, there are still plenty of ways to style yourself. And if you're going to do something fun and memorable, you might as well go looking bold and funky! Show off your summertime funk! #YOLO

10 Best Dressed at Met Gala

The Met Gala is one of the most glamorous nights of the year, in both the fashion and entertainment industry. It's the one night where it is exceptional to wear a crazy outfit that looks like it should be on display at a museum (ironic considering it takes place at the MET Museum!) It's always fun to see how creative celebrities get with their style, and every year almost everyone makes history with what they wear. This year, I was happy to hear the theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination". I love that idea and I think everything about it is beautiful. Of course all the stars who attended looked beautiful in their heavenly masterpieces! 

With that being said, here are my top ten favorite looks from the Met Gala!

1.) Blake Lively

I mean, c'mon! I swear Blake is a goddess sent down from the heavens. This outfit literally fits a queen and no one could of rocked it better than her. Look at the amazing jewels and burgundy velvet skirt!

A very radiant and elegant look. Selena said that Queen Esther from the Bible was her inspiration and that her current relationship is set on Jesus, which makes me adore her even more. She's such an amazing role model!

Ashley is a BOSS! I love this girl, everything about her. She's beautiful inside and out, she's confident, she's cool, and she's a great inspiration for all girls to follow. Look at how amazing she looks in this gown, she's killing it! The sparkles and train, it all looks so perfect on her.

I seriously want to be Karlie's best friend. She's so cool and fun. And let's not forget her amazing taste in style, look at this dress! So elegant and sexy at the same time. She totally pulls it off!

Everyone make way for the King of Wakanda! Chadwick (sorry, the Black Panther) never fails when it comes to style like this outfit symbolizing Jesus Christ. But then again, what can't he do?! #WakandaForever

Literally an angel sent down from heaven. The halo couldn't make a better touch with this gorgeous gown. It's like she came right out of a stained glass window in a Catholic church!

Cindy Crawford to this day is still a fashion icon. It's as though she hasn't aged at all! She still looks like her 25-year old self back when she wore a very similar red gown at the 1991 Met Gala!

Cardi B seriously nailed this look, I love the Catholic inspiration behind it. I also give her big time credit for the heavy material on the outfit, especially while she has growing baby in her stomach! She literally is a queen!

It Girl

What exactly is an "it girl"? Urban Dictionary defines the term as "the girl that everyone wants to be." Basically, the popular cheerleader in high school, the sorority president/fraternity sweetheart, or the celebrity Instagram model that everyone is following. That's the it girl that were referring to. 

I may not be your typical it girl (I'm just a girl, which I'm cool with), but this outfit makes me feel like an it girl big time. Pleaded pants, trendy checked blazer, newsboy hat, white tee with a French word and pointed black pumps, I feel like I'm ready to attend Fashion Week! It's a very trendy outfit, but at the same time I feel like I made it unique with my sense of spunky style. I love every bit of it!

I just recently bought both the gray checked blazer and pink pleaded pants from Zara. I saw them both hung up in different sections of the store, but some random voice crossed my mind and said, "These pieces would match perfectly together." So I tried them on and boy was that voice right, it matched absolutely perfect together. I looked in the mirror and said to myself, "There's no way I can say no to this, I'm never gonna find another outfit as chic and similar as this!" I'm so glad that I bought them, I'm obsessed. I've never felt more like a total fashionista!

I'm especially happy about this blazer which I can style with casual ripped jeans and shorts. The pleaded pants were a nice treat and something I've always wanted. They're so comfortable and spunky at the same time! 

I've had my Calvin Klein newsboy hat for a few years already. It wasn't until recently I took it out of my closet to wear with this outfit, and it made it look so much more chic and it girl-like! Newsboy hats have been coming back in style, which I'm totally all for.  

To complete the good look, I add a little more combination of spunk and class with my "Merci" graphic tee from Anthropologie, black heels from J. Crew, olive green crossbody purse from Francesca's, and some fancy jewelry from Rocksbox.

Summer is just around the corner, and it's coming in HOT!

2.) Swimsuit (One Piece)

One piece swimsuits have grown on me during the last few years. I used to be uncomfortable wearing them as a kid, mostly because they felt too tight on my skin. But now I can't get enough of them. I love this plunge bralette stripe swimsuit with a few bright colors from the rainbow. It's so fun, adorable, sexy, and perfect for summer. It looks kind of patriotic as well, just in time for a Fourth of July pool party!

3.) Swimsuit (Bikini)

I'm obsessed with marble print, whether on electronic devices or clothes. This marble print high waisted bandeau bikini set is perfect and adorable for my style, I'm all about it. The texture looks so smooth!

4.) Cropped Tee #1

Ever since last summer, I've been wanting to get a criss cross knotted top since it's very trendy. I really like this knotted plunging neck tee, it looks like a good size and I love the army green color. I could wear it with ripped boyfriend jeans, denim shorts, and skirts! 

5.) Cropped Tee #2

This gingham off shoulder top is super trendy and stylish, so of course this is on my wishlist as well. I love how the model is wearing white jeans with it, it looks so classy and hip! There's so many fun ways to style this top. It's definitely a must-have!

6.) Mini Dress

Red is no doubt one of my favorite colors, so I'm definitely a sucker for this knotted overlap ruffles mini dress. Look at how darling it is! Perfect for a date night out at the beach with a fancy margharita! 

7.) Maxi Dress

A new maxi dress is almost necessary for every summer, which is why I'm loving this bow tie cami striped maxi dress. Not only could I wear it to outdoor parties or trips to the farmers market, but I can also wear it to work with a nice jacket. Works well for any occasion!

Warmer weather is FINALLY here after five months of a cold hard winter! I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for shorts, flowy crop tops, maxi dresses, swimsuits, sunglasses, and open-toed shoes. Summer is calling! Of course I'm enjoying the mild spring while it lasts.

Hoppy Easter

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday filled with love and blessings!

Easter definitely ranks in the top three for favorite annual holidays (Christmas and Independence Day being the other two). It's an amazing celebration, especially because we get to honor our Savior Jesus Christ who sacrificed His own life and freed us from the sinful chains! I love spending the holiday by going to church, going to visit my family for dinner, and of course watching adorable kids hunt for pastel eggs. 

What I also love about Easter is that it's held at the beginning of springtime. Though I'm more of a summer and fall loving girl, I appreciate spring with all my heart. The weather is mild, flowers are finally blooming, and my birthday takes place during this season! And of course, as a style blogger, I have to share a new favorite outfit for the springtime!

I just recently bought this new floral maxi dress and olive green crossbody bag from Francesca's, one of my top favorite retailers. They just opened up their spring style collection and they have a variety of pretty outfit pieces, it was hard to choose what to buy without spending too much money! Before trying the maxi dress on, I wasn't sure if it was going to look good on me. But then I tried it on and I felt really good in it! It's so darling, comfy, chic, and perfect for spring. I love the floral design, and my hot pink nails match perfectly with it! 

My mom found the bag while I was trying clothes on and told me to wear it with the dress. It matched so well, and the olive green color makes it match with a lot of other colors. Again, perfect for spring!

Of course, I can't leave out my killer bomber jacket from styleNmotion. It looks so spunky and classy with the dress. It also fits well for the occasion since it's still not quite warm outdoors. 

And you can never go wrong with chic black booties by Steve Madden. This entire outfit makes me feel like I'm ready to go to a Coachella festival!

Happy Tuesday!

Did anyone watch the Oscars this past Sunday? Can't believe it's been 90 years since movies have started to make such a huge impact on the world. But more importantly, did anyone see the amazing outfits from the red carpet?
