10 Best Dressed at Teen Choice Awards

I just can't stop thinking about how 2017 is flying by. I mean, it felt like I was watching La La Land embarrassingly lose to Moonlight (on live national television) at the Oscars just yesterday. Speaking of the Oscars, I have a new Hollywood awards show that I want to discuss when it involves the celebrities and fashion: the Teen Choice Awards!

I know what you may be thinking: why is a 21-year old watching the Teen Choice Awards? Well, why not? They give out awards to movies, TV shows, celebrities, and other stuff that I love. It's also a show for millennials, and I would consider myself to be a millennial (one reason is because I love avocados). What strikes me most about the Teen Choice Awards is that it's a youthful and quirky ceremony, which means that the fashion is going to be pretty youthful and quirky as well. It also takes place during the summertime, which also means you have more options go crazy with the style. Not going to lie, I was kind of bummed about not being able to see the show live since it would be my dream to go to a Hollywood awards ceremony. I was following some bloggers and vloggers (a YouTube version of a blogger) who were got to watch a show thanks to some popular brands such as Neutrogena. But I was still happy that I got to watch most of the show and watch some of my favorite celebrities there. So for this week's Tuesday Ten, here are my top ten picks for favorite fashion looks at the Teen Choice Awards!

1.) Victoria Justice

FullSizeRender.jpg

It's almost impossible for Victoria Justice to fail with her style when she walks the red (or blue) carpet, and this outfit is most definitely flawless in every single way. The small draped cape hanging down behind her right leg is so majestic and unique. I also love her sexy but not too revealing belly cutout and her daisy covered belt. I'm convinced that she is a fashion goddess, at least in my book!

2.) Melissa Benoist

FullSizeRender.jpg

It may be a bad choice to wear leather in the summertime, but this is a killer look. You have to be super daring to pull off a look as bold as this, and Melissa totally rocked it. She looked SUPER glamorous! Ha, see what I did there?

3.) Dani Austin

FullSizeRender.jpg

There's no reason as to why Dani shouldn't be on this list. She's adorable, optimistic, passionate about Jesus, and the perfect inspiration for a fashion blogger like myself (if you don't know her, go watch her YouTube videos and read her blog ASAP). Just look at her outfit, it's got a fun childlike vibe and is still so chic. What a cutie! I'm also obsessed with those long beautiful golden locks, she kind of looks like Princess Aurora!

4.) Niki Koss

FullSizeRender.jpg

Victoria Justice may be a fashion goddess, but this look reminds me of a nature goddess. I'm a sucker for floral printed dresses, especially in a sunny yellow color. I also love the design, the mermaid tail bottom and sweetheart off-the-shoulder crop top makes the style look bold yet still elegant.

5.) Zendaya

FullSizeRender.jpg

Have pajamas ever looked more stylish than this? They're freaking sparkly, look professional, look extremely comfy, and Zendaya absolutely rocks it. Thanks to her, now we can wear pajamas whenever we want, whether for a night in with pizza and netflix or for a night out with the ladies!

6.) Peyton List

FullSizeRender.jpg

Everything about this outfit is flaming red hot (and it's literally red). I love that it's a jumpsuit with a cape draping around the right leg. I also love the big gold hoop earrings and loose curls, they match her look perfectly and make her look very glamorous and chic.

7.) Lucy Hale

FullSizeRender.jpg

This outfit is so unique and artsy, it's one of those dresses that I wouldn't expect to see or imagine but makes me glad that I do get to see. The pink and yellow colors look great together, and the velvet fabric material and design is super creative and runway ready. I would have liked a more wavy or blowout hairstyle rather than sleeked all the way back, but she still looks beautiful no matter what.

8.) Gabi DeMartino

FullSizeRender.jpg

I love how this is kind of a combination of a celebrity and a businesswoman. The twisted strapped high heels also add a little bit of sass to the look, which I love. This is what I think of when I think of the term "girlboss". Go like a pro with serious style!

9.) Louis Tomlinson

Even though Louis's One Direction days might be left in the past, he still shows off some boy band vibes and shows it off very well. This look looks like it combined an athlete and a musician together into one person, and it makes him look very handsome. IF I had to rank my favorite One Direction boys in order, Louis would be #2 (sorry, but Harry Styles is so freaking good looking!)

10.) Chris Pratt

I would be such a dummy for not putting him on my list of best dressed due to the fact that I have the biggest crush on him (but then again, who doesn't?) I do believe that Chris is a perfect style icon for men's fashion. Especially with this outfit, the black jacket and black jeans match perfect with his dark navy blue flannel. He may be a guardian of the galaxy, but he also sure is a guardian of style! If that makes any sense whatsoever ...

Cheers to Summer

August is upon us, which means we aren't too far away from fall now. The end of summer is always unblissful, especially when you're in college like me and have to start classes again soon. I know there's a full month left of summer fun, but it's going to fly by!

I was going to write this blog post about these swimsuits sooner in June, but I just never found the time with work and other blog posts getting in the way. So I managed to finally find time to write about them now that summer is coming to an end, which is actually a little better because they're going to be on sale soon anyway, so best to get them at the cheapest prices. Now I can share you two of my favorite swimsuits that can help you get ideas for next summer or for the remaining days of this summer!

Swimsuit 1 - Sheer Mesh One Piece

IMG_2795.JPG

This first bathing suit probably is the top of my favorite swimsuit list of the summer. It's a strapless sheer mesh one piece (it does come with straps in a mini bag if you would rather wear straps) and cost about $20-$30 dollars at Target. I think you can get it for a cheaper price now that summer is almost over.

My mom was a little skeptical when I bought this and is still is. It definitely is a swimsuit that you probably shouldn't wear to a family gathering at the lake, beach, or pool. To be honest; however, I have bikinis that reveal more than this swimsuit!

My favorite design of the swimsuit is on the back where the sheer mesh shows more clear lower back, as well as the open upper back.

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

The reason I love this swimsuit the most is that I feel so sexy and confident in it, and who wouldn't?! Any girl with any body can rock this fierce piece with style!

IMG_2796.JPG

Swimsuit 2: Retro One Piece

As you can tell by now, one pieces are one of my few obsessions for this summer. They're definitely back in season and look more stylish than ever. I hated wearing one piece bathing suits as a kid, and now I love them!

I bought this swimsuit at Target for the same price as the sheer mesh one piece. Although this one is no longer in stock, you can find many similar ones for great prices almost anywhere (click the Walmart link down below if you're interested in one).

I love the 50s retro vibe it gives me. It's definitely not as sketchy as the first on piece, although there is a tiny cutout on the chest that makes it a bit sexy. The majority of the look; however, is beyond classy which I love.

Since we're on the topic of retro, I thought a black and white filter for this last picture would fit well with the theme of the suit!

Wine and Dine

Stop your "wining" and pour yourself a glass!

I said it once and I'll say it again, I love Napa. It's not even just because of all the kinds of wine that are made there, it was the scenery that absolutely blew me away. My favorite day during my time there was when we took a wine trolley tour through the valley for exploring and wine tastings. I wanted to look nice for the tour, but at the same time I wanted to be comfortable for six hours straight. So as a fashion maven, I thought this coral off the shoulder dress from Anthropologie was a perfect choice.

IMG_2431.JPG
FullSizeRender.jpg

Like red, the color coral brings out the bold in me. It's also a beachy kind of color, which goes very well with my summer/California style. Although this makes me feel more sweet and classy rather than sexy, I still have so much confidence when wearing it, especially with the off the shoulder portion of the dress. A little wine also adds some confidence as well!

If you know me well, you know that I can't resist a dress with pockets, and thankfully this dress has them! One of the ladies we became friends with on the tour gave me the nickname "Pockets", which I don't even mind one bit. I hope it catches on!

I'm obsessed with my cat eye sunglasses from The LOFT. I love the shape and the fact that you can wear them with anything. They make me feel like a movie star!

Cheers to a wonderful time in Napa Valley and to Anthropologie for always bringing summer in style!

Cleveland Fashionista

Win or lose, Cleveland always rocks!

Unfortunately, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals. I will admit that I did shed a few tears, but then I reminded myself about the fact that our team won a championship last year and that they managed to make it to the NBA Finals three years in a row. Cleveland has grown and improved in the past few years, and it will continue to do so in the next years to come. No matter what happens, I will always love and support my city till the day I die! Speaking of which ...

I got this shirt at the Cleveland Cavaliers Game 4 outdoor fan fest/watch party outside the Q for $25. It was designed by a clothing brand that's very supportive of Cleveland called Fresh Brewed Tees. It's a great fit, it's so soft, and it truly represents my love for the city. There are New York City fashionistas and there are Los Angeles fashionistas, but I'm a straight up and proud Cleveland fashionista!

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

I know I say this a lot about most of my outfits, but this shirt really does go great with anything. Jeans, legging, skirts, you name it! I think this denim skirt from Target, my favorite All-Star Converse shoes, and glasses are great additions to the show and give off a sporty, chic vibe. That definitely screams Cleveland Fashionista!

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

I wore it the day after I purchased it,  for a night out in Little Italy, CLE (aka the most authentic and charming neighborhood in Northeast Ohio) with my parents. Could it BE any more perfect? Not at all, especially when you have some soft serve chocolate gelato in one hand!

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

To those who underestimate Cleveland as a city, think again. First off, LeBron and his team won a championship after miraculously coming back from a 3-1 lead- which had never been done before in NBA history. That same year, the Indians made it to the World Series. Despite not winning, they still made it! We are also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lake Erie, Swenson's, West Side Market, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Little Italy (obviously), Playhouse Square aka the largest performing arts theatre district outside of New York, Blossom Music Center, and Cedar Point aka the Roller Coaster Capital of the World which is only an hour drive away. A long time ago we also used to have an actual SeaWorld park in the area which was neighbors across the pond from the now abandoned Geauga Lake, which there are rumors spreading around that it might become the new site a big movie studio. Safe to say, we have a lot of pretty cool things to be proud of!

You don't have to like Cleveland, sometimes even Clevelanders themselves don't like it from time to time (long winters are hard to take). But that doesn't mean we stop supporting it, and we'll always come back - because it's home. The same goes for all of Ohio, and it's called "the heart of it all" for a reason (it actually is shaped like a heart!) I will never be ashamed to call Cleveland my true home. When I finally get the chance to pursue this blog as a freelance career, I plan on staying in Cleveland as my hub - with the opportunity to travel the world time to time. Even if the dreams and future God has in store for me takes me somewhere else, I have no doubt that I will always be coming back to the city and state that I love. That truly says a lot if you ask me.

Cleveland against the world!

10 Best Dressed at Coachella

Did anyone go to Coachella this past weekend? Don't tell me if you did, otherwise I may shed a few tears ...

I'm just kidding, I actually don't even mind not going. Of course, it's something that I definitely want to attend someday, but this weekend was spent with my family and I could not turn that down, especially considering we we're celebrating Easter. Also some of the controversies that spark from this giant annual music festival seem insanely crazy, such as drugs and probably sex. I would never get involved in that kind of stuff, I just want to go to Coachella for the music, friendship, food, drinks, activities, celebrities, and of course, fashion!

I figured it has been a while since I last posted a Tuesday Ten, so I finally made some time during my busy schedule to write a blog about Coachella fashion. So now, I want to share my top ten picks for best dressed this past weekend!

1.) Victoria Justice

Maxi dresses and fedoras for life! This outfit is the definition and example of music festival style, especially for Coachella. Is there any better way to put it? And the scarlet red color works so well with Victoria's dark hair and olive skin tone. Also her sunglasses, hat, and blue nail polish is all on point! Once a fashion icon, forever a fashion icon.

2.) Jamie Chung

I LOVE the pineapple crop top, it's so adorable! I also really love her ripped jean shorts, yellow sandals, funky sunglasses, mini yellow purse, and oil-paper parasol. I'm not crazy about the earrings, but everything else about this outfit is super cute and perfect for a big music festival and for the upcoming summer season!

3.) Lottie Moss

I've already talked about how off the shoulder outfits are trending in my last fashion blog. This year's Coachella was populated with these kinds of tops and dresses, and Lottie Moss's version is very lovely, chic, and kind of sporty (with the sneakers). My favorite part about this outfit is the black layered wrap skirt, and I also like the black fedora and hippie John Lennon-looking frames.

4.) Olivia Culpo

There has not been one jumpsuit that I have seen and hated. This outfit is so cute and well-fitted. The striped pattern makes it so fun but not too out there or controversial unlike some of the Coachella outfits that girls wear. Her eye makeup also looks so beautiful with her bob cut, and the yellow cotton candy adds a sweet touch! Now I'm craving cotton candy ...

5.) Emma Roberts

Emma has already tried every natural hair color and has managed to pull them all off super well. First brunette, then blonde, and now ginger. She just has that pretty face and taste in style that makes it work! I also really adore this dress, it's absolutely perfect for spring and summer. The shoes and sunglasses also look super chic for a chic weekend.

6.) Selena Gomez

Selena is my current girl crush at the moment. She has such a great taste in style and is willing to try anything out, from elegant to rebellious. She can pull almost anything off, especially this cute blue and white daisy collared dress and Ash Footwear white sneakers. This is definitely an outfit that is mostly girly-girl with a little tomboy touch to it.

7.) Ashley Graham

I honestly didn't really know who Ashley Graham was until I watched her in a "73 Questions" segment for Vogue. While watching it, I fell in love with her confidence and personality, she's so cool and beautiful! And I think of all those exact qualities when I look at her fashion pictures from Coachella. I love the gold choker and gold metallic robe wrapped around the black off the shoulder dress, very much like Cleopatra!

8.) Hailee Steinfeld

The short shirt dress and knee high boots look like a modern day rock star and the matching fashion pieces look pop star! The red lipstick also looks great with the outfit's color pattern, side ponytail, and neutral eye makeup. I think this look overall is so cool and fits super well on Hailee and with her sense of style!

9.) Martha Hunt

I'm not a big fan of the see-through shirt, but I love the sequin shorts and gray/blue booties. Even though I don't like the top part that much, I think the lace white bralette that she chose to wear looks really stylish.

10.) Kendall Jenner

I have to be honest and say that I am not a fan of the Kardashians but if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Kendall. She definitely has the best taste in style, and she definitely proved it at the music festival this weekend with this chic outfit. Plus, she seems like the nicest and most fun to hang out with (especially since she's a member of the T-Swift Squad!)

Easter Sunday

"Hoppy" Easter! Jesus is alive and we are all free from the chains!

I'm loving this special holiday and spring finally coming into full bloom, but I just can't believe it's already April! Before we know it, we will be celebrating the Fourth of July. And then before we know it, it will already be Christmas. And then after that, it will be 2018! My heart beats faster just writing about it!

But I'm not going to waste my time worrying about the future. I want to enjoy each and every moment that I am currently experiencing, which is what I exactly did for Easter. On Saturday, my parents and I drove to Lima, where my dad grew up, to spend the holiday weekend with his side of the family. Lauren and her boyfriend drove up from Oxford to join the celebration, and then we had other relatives from Dayton that joined us. We stayed at my grandparents' house on Saturday night, freshened up early Sunday morning, went to a Catholic mass, and came back to the house for Easter lunch. It was a wonderful day and weekend, all thanks to the one and only King!

And of course, what is Easter without a cute outfit to post and share? I think this year's outfit might be the most Easter-like yet!

FullSizeRender.jpg

Off the shoulder dresses and tops have become such a huge fashion trend within the past year, and I have no doubt that it is going to continue on. I think they look great with every body type, no matter what shape. I've been gaining much more confidence when it comes to putting pictures of myself online, and looking at these pictures makes me feel even more confident. There's just something about this dress that makes me feel not only sweet but bold, and it most likely has to due with the off the shoulder portion of it. Or maybe I'm just embracing the fact that it's finally super warm and sunny outside!

This dress is from Tory Burch which I bought recently at a consignment shop in Georgetown for a cheaper price.  It's super perfect for spring with the colorful floral details and can also be worn as a coverup when going to the pool or beach. Plus, it has pockets which is always a bonus!

FullSizeRender.jpg

For shoes, I re-wore my Jessica Simpson red sandal wedges from my high school graduation. They matched perfectly with the red flowers on my dress and are comfortable to walk around in for a while. My only regret is not painting my toe nails for these pictures, otherwise they would have looked so much prettier and artsier!

IMG_1786.JPG
FullSizeRender.jpg

I rarely wear dark red lipstick, and I am very grateful that it goes well with my dark hair and tanned skin tone. I recently ordered and received the spring edition box of FabFitFun and one of the few products included was an all red lip kit from RealHer and a gold cage bracelet cuff from Emerald Duv

The kit consisted of a red lip liner, red liquid lipstick, and red lip gloss. I wanted to try it out for Easter because it would match perfectly with the red flower details on my dress and my red heel straps. I first put the liner on to give my lips an even shape and extra touch of red, which felt a little creamy on my lips surprisingly (which is a good thing!) Then, I put the lip stainer on top and let it dry out. I didn't want to use the lip gloss because I wanted to see how the matte texture looked on my lips, as well as to make it last longer throughout the entire day, which thankfully it did!

I didn't do too much with my hair and makeup because I wanted to make it look more natural and not too much with the bright lip color.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Another great thing about this kind of dress is that it doesn't have to be completely off the shoulder. You can style it by wearing the ruffled straps has short sleeves, and it looks just as cute! It's also helpful to do that when you're not wearing a bra. Just saying.

I've been getting so anxious to wear this dress, and yesterday was the absolutely most perfect day to wear it for the first time. Plus, I can now say that I finally have an off the shoulder fashion piece, so I'm finally caught up on most of the latest trends! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter that was well spent with family, friends, Jesus, and plenty of colorful eggs!

Just a friendly little reminder that since summer is coming soon, that means that you can expect a lot of new summer blogs coming up! Of course I'm going to continue my fashion and Tuesday Ten posts, but I also want to try to focus much more on DIY ideas, beauty, lifestyle, and travel.

Thankfully, I'll have more time to write and post since I won't be in classes, which will also give me more time to improve. I am continuing to better my writing skills as well as my creativity. I want to improve my blog to make it become more professional and hopefully a big part of my dream career. I want to make the website as creative, positive, artsy, bold, intelligent, and helpful in any way possible for the reader. I am going to continue to pray, write, and plan new ideas to help further more into the blogging industry, and I highly encourage you to stay along for the ride! I want to thank all of my readers who have been reading this blog since day one, you are all what makes writing these posts so special!

Sideways Top

Have you ever worn anything in an asymmetrical shape, like a shirt possibly? Well, if it's stylish, then it can be easy to pull off!

The weather in Ohio is getting much warmer now and it already kind of feels like summer! Of course, we Ohioans feel that way after a freaking long and miserable winter. It's like Floridians bundling up for 60 degree weather!

But anyway, since it's still a little chilly in mid April, I wanted to share a new outfit that fits well with the season and might come to you as a surprise: an assymetrical shaped shirt!

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

The first time I saw this shirt was in Zara during our trip to D.C. At first I thought it looked a dress, but then my mom told me it would look very cute with leggings or jeans, and that's when I realized it was actually a shirt! And I think it's much better off as a shirt, an asymmetrical dress would reveal a little too much.

I LOVE the dark gray color of the shirt! it's very modest and also a little calming. I think it's super creative and fun how the fashion designer(s) decided to make the dress more long on one side than the other. The fashion industry keeps getting more quirky and creative!

When it comes to jewelry, I would say either big chandelier earrings or a a long pendant necklace like the one pictured below from Anthropologie. Even though the shirt has a darker shade, I would still try to wear less jewelry since it's asymmetrical and you don't want to take away too much attention from it since it is the key to this specific outfit and which is why I'm writing a blog about it. Less is more!

Finally for shoes, it is warm enough outside to wear more open ankle footwear, which works perfectly well with these leggings from Lululemon that stop at my ankles. My favorite loafers from Madewell are so fashionable with this outfit and definitely stand out thanks to the cheetah print.
