Professional Fashion

Though summer is the best time of the year to take a break from practically the world, there is still work to keep busy with and to make money. This summer, I am working as an intern at Gojo Industries, Inc. It is a private headquarters in which they manufacture hand hygiene and skin care products, including their bestseller Purell. This is my second summer working there, and I am glad to be an intern again! about it! My dad is a sales manager for the company, so a lot of the people I will be working with know me very well and are flexible with my work hours and such. I will only be working three times each week, so that's a bonus, too! An internship is extremely valuable to future reference, and one of my major keys to doing the job right is dressing for success!

Pleather Weather

I believe pleather/leather material in outfits look very professional. They may not be the comfiest, but they sure make a job well-done! One of my main outfits that I have planned to wear for some of my work days is this brown pleather pencil skirt that I bought from Ann Taylor (for a very good deal!) I am very happy because this may be my most professional-looking one that I can easily pull of for both work and parties. The material is really good too, and I love the dark brown color. It goes with pretty much everything, heck wear a big lazy T-shirt and rock any occasion!

For the top part, I have a black pocket shell tank from the LOFT. I managed to get it on sale, and it's perfect for this summer. I love the soft, loose material and the V-neck line. It can literally match anything, including pants, shorts, and skirts. I think I saw Anna Kendrick wear a very similar shirt in Pitch Perfect 2

Brown and black make a good color combo, so it's a smart idea to make your shoes the same color. Here I am wearing my infamous yet classic black pumps from J. Crew. They are a pain in the A-word to walk in, but they sure make any outfit a 10/10!

Finally for accessories, I think it's best to keep this outfit simple with some of my favorite Alex and Ani gold bracelets and a cute gold initial bar pendant necklace from Urban Outfitters. Less is more!

"Checked"

I may have only put this on this blog as an excuse to wear it, but it can be revenant for business fashion, too! I am absolutely obsessed with this check-print maxi dress that I bought from Zara during my trip to New York City. Zara is one of my mom, sister, and I's favorite stores to shop at. It has the most classiest and fashionable clothes ever. It's actually where Kate Middleton shops, so we it's awesome to know that we have the same taste in style! I love this dress because it's very comfy, I love the pattern, and I think the cut-out part on the right bottom is very chic. It's a perfect long dress that you can wear for almost anything, even church!

For shoes, I again choose my classic black pumps from J. Crew. WARNING: If you are planning to work somewhere that involves a lot of walking around, these shoes may not be the best comfort option!

For the final touch, I choose to wear my long gold necklace with a stick-like thing. My cousin bought it for me from Francesca's, I think, for Christmas and I wear it all the time. I also have on blue teardrop earrings from Francesca's also. They kind of remind me of Princess Peach's earrings!

 Summer Lovin'

My last outfit choice fits very well for both work and summer. I love wearing black and white clothes the most because they go with everything. You could wear sparkly technicolor shoes with large diamonds and they still would look good! I just bought this contrast-trim dress from New York & Company, which was on sale for only twenty or thirty dollars. This is one of my favorite purchases I have ever made for the summer, and I'm so excited to wear it for my internship and other fun events! I recommend wearing a black or colorful belt with this, it makes it look even more dandy.

I couldn't tell you how long I've ha these big sunglasses for, but they're still in good shape! I bought these cat eye frames from Ann Taylor a few years ago. I am planning on getting new sunglasses for the summer, but I still really like this pair. The bigger the better!

These red and black heels actually belong to Natalie, and luckily we wear the same size shoe! They are from Michael Kors, and they are a great combination of classic and professional!

Finally, my bag is from Harrods, an upmarket department store located in London (as you can tell by the design). This is not on of my best purses for work use, but I haven't used it in a while and I thought it would look really good with the dress. It's nice because it's a fun purse full of color, a fancy design, and a fun theme. Who doesn't like London?!

And of course, I couldn't leave out my one and only snazzy watch from Fossil, best accessory for any job!

Moral in Floral

Hey, guys!

Sorry for the long delay, I was so busy studying for final exams all last week and taking them this week. I'm so exhausted, literally. So much studying and writing to do in so little time! But thankfully, now they are all over and I am officially on summer break! Which means ... more blog posts! Yay!

On an even brighter, it is May! It's one of my favorite months. It's the the time of the year when spring really looks the most beautiful, no classes, the weather is a lot warmer, and it's my birthday month! I'm going to be turning twenty-years old in fifteen days, oh my word.

I have a ton of blog ideas planned for May as well as this coming summer, along with the help of my newly blogger partner, Natalie Hillyer! (Go check out her website http://www.lollilu.space and subscribe) I'm super excited for these next few months that I have off, so let me start off with a fresh new fashion blog for May!

This is my Saraid Dress that I bought from Anthropologie during my trip to New York City. I figured it would be perfect for May because of the floral design. It was made by HD in Paris, which is one of the store's biggest fashion designers. I love the colors, it's a good fit size, it's the bottom is very flowly, and I bought it for a very good price of $40!

I do not have any pictures of the shoes I am wearing, but I have on my black pumps from J. Crew. Depending on the occasion, any shoe that matches the colors or the event would be perfect.

As for jewelry, I do not think you need to accessorize too much with this outfit. I usually go for smaller amounts of jewelry pieces. Earrings, not too big or crazy. Rings, very simple. Bracelets, none (due to very long sleeves). Necklaces, I think this is a good dress to wear one with. But a big sparkly and colorful necklace probably would not be the best option. I recommend a simple chain with a pendant, like the one I am wearing down below. It's gold and has my first initial on it. I got it from Urban Outfitters, and I wear it all the time!

I feel so free after finishing this semester! College is tough, but I love it. Now I am ready for a nice, long summer break! So stay tuned for more posts to come! And remember, keep sparkling! :)

10 Best Looks from the Met Gala

Last night, I managed to use my free time after completing my first two exams (phew) by making a recent top ten list of some of my favorite fashion looks from the Met Gala red carpet. I absolutely enjoy looking at my favorite celebrities wearing gorgeous gowns at big events. I know it sounds kind of lame, but I just love it due to my passion for fashion. It's always exciting to see what popular stars wear that will later be talked about all over the media, whether it's best dressed or worst dressed. But of course, this list is focused on my personal favorite best looks. So check out my top ten picks!

1.) Claire Danes

She looked totally flawless, most definitely belle of the ball. If it's a Cinderella look, it cannot be beaten for number one. It even illuminates and sparkles in the dark! That's just pure fairytale magic!

2.) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley .jpg

I always have to pick the simple white gowns from every red carpet event as my favorite. It's just so elegant and graceful, how could no one love a beautiful look like this??

3.) Margot Robbie

Pretty much same caption as the previous choice, I think it's well-explained. I do like the cut-out sides and gold bracelets, it brings out a more sexy and Egyptian-like look!

4.) Emma Watson

Emma Watson never fails to look less flawless on any red carpet event. I mean come on, she's wearing long pants under a long skirt and she looks so damn good! She's like a super glamorous pirate! Hey Disney, would this be an interesting idea for your next Pirates of the Caribbean movie?

5.) Blake Lively

Blake Lively is definitely one of my favorite fashion icons of all time. If I could own any celebrity's wardrobe, I probably would choose hers (and Kate Middleton's of course). Normally I don't really like pink and red colors together, but the design of this gown is absolutely stunning. I could imagine she feels a lot like Sleeping Beauty in that dress. I least I would if I wore that dress!

6.) Zoey Deutch

I don't really know who this girl is, but I absolutely love her beautiful floral gown! The braided crown updo, of course, adds a great touch to the grown-up flower child. This look is absolutely perfect and representable for the month of May!

7.) Kate Upton

This is definitely an old vintage Hollywood look. The super bouncy hair waves, silver sparkly gown with a mid-train, and a very sexy touch with one sleeved arm and one sleeveless arm. Nothing brights up the red carpet more than bringing back an original classy look!

8.) Elle Fanning

I love the peachy shade on this simple gown, very natural. The sleek long ponytail and simple necklace also add a beautiful addition to the classic look. It kind of looks like something that Audrey Hepburn would have worn in her days!

9.) Emma Stone

Very goddess-like, I approve. Smokey eyes, even more perfect. I'm not crazy about the metallic belt and sleeves, but I still think it makes the look really appealing and eye-catching. It's weird to see her with a darker hair shade since we all know her as a fiery redhead, but she pulls it off very well!

10.) Amy Schumer

I love sleek red dresses because they look very bold. I believe red is a strong color, and that's why it is one of my favorite colors. Amy Schumer can definitely pull off a scarlet tone (or practically anything) with her personality and appearance. She is, physically and mentally, a very strong and beautiful person, whether she is being funny or serious. Continue to be bold and beautiful as always, Amy!

Good Ol' Prom Days

Prom season is just around the corner! It makes me sad when I see online prom dresses or people out shopping for dresses now because it just reminds me that I'm a college student with no life. Hahaha, just kidding! But for real, I really miss prom.

Though I want to cry tears of sorrow as I see all these beautiful gowns that I could be buying if I was still in high school, I enjoy looking at pictures of a group of friends all dressed up like royals and getting ready for their big night. I love the variety of colors, the style/material of dresses, hair, makeup, nails, shoes, practically everything! And of course, having dates that dress up in fancy schmancy suits, so classy and perfect. But hey, as long as you got a group of your best friends then you don't need a date!

So anyway, I decided to write a prom-based fashion blog for anyone who is looking for a dress. For my senior year prom, I wore a beautiful ballgown that I bought from a prom shop called Henri's. It was originally designed by Sherri Hill, who is known for making beautiful and sparkly ballgownsI normally am not a huge fan of big and puffy ballgowns, but I think it was worth it for that night. What's great about it is that it's not too extreme or all-out. It has simple colors (light pink and nude), light sequins, and it looks very graceful. I believe that this is a gown that Kate Middleton could totally pull off. But let's be honest, Kate Middleton can wear anything and look fabulous ...

I really felt like a princess that night. The dress is like a combination of Cinderella, Princess Aurora, and Belle. Cinderella because of the sequins and fluffy skirt, Princess Aurora because it's pink, and Belle because she's the Disney princess that I most look like (and she's one of my top favorites!)

To go along with the dress, I wore teardrop pearl studs from Charming Charlie's, a sparkly tennis bracelet from Charming Charlie's, and silver sequin high heels that I have worn to almost every single high school dance.

For beauty, you can do almost everything with this dress. I had my hair curled and pinned into a simple low updo. It would also look cute curled down, but I thought, 'Well, I don't get my hair put into a fancy updo a lot, so let's just go for it!' I'm very glad I got an updo, I think it makes the dress look even more classy and regal. For makeup, I wouldn't go too bright or too much. I just kept it super simple with light nude/pinkish eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, and nude lip gloss. I did actually wear false eyelashes, which is something I normally don't use for makeup! Finally for nails, I just did the fancy French manicure/pedicure. It pretty much goes with whatever you where, and it looks perfect!

If you want my advice for having the best prom ever, just have fun with it. Wear whatever dress makes you feel most beautiful, do whatever hairstyle, makeup, or nails you think would look best with that dress. Get a big group of your closest friends to take fun and memorable pictures with, you don't need a date to go with you! And most importantly, just remember to enjoy every moment of that night before it ends. I look back on my last prom and wish I could re-live it. I miss dancing with all of my friends and feeling like a princess. But instead of moping about never going to prom again, I just look back on those memories and smile because it was a night that I will truly never forget.

Caroline in the City

New York City is considered one of the fashion capitals of the world and during my visit I certainly wanted to ensure that I fit in well and didn't necessarily look like I was a fashion laggard.  Therefore, I put quite a bit of thought into packing my outfits and what I was going to wear throughout my trip - both day and night.   Fashion is one of my favorite aspects of New York - and it seems as though pretty much anything goes as well as it is put together well from head to toe.

Walking Through The Breezy City

Despite the weather being better than we expected, it was still pretty chilly. So instead of bringing regular jackets or scarves, I decided to go with a more stylish look and bring my black sleeveless poncho from Francesca's. It came in very handy, I wore it two days in a row. It feels like a blanket, but with the thickness of a scarf!

Just in case the poncho wasn't warm enough, I wore my gray sweater from American Eagle to bundle up a little more. Other parts of my outfit include black Zella leggings, black Kohl's boots made by Lauren Conrad, black Ann Taylor sunglassesand of course a brown crossbody bag from Fossil to carry my belongings!

For beauty references, I didn't worry too much about it. There's no need to make your hair or makeup super fancy. So I just kept it simple with naturally straight hair, both up and down, and simple everyday makeup. It makes the outfit look even more classy and sweet!

Broadway Star

NYC is the perfect place to dress up anytime whatsoever! This is one of my absolute favorite dress that exists in this wardrobe. It is from Anthropologie, designed by Darla Tulle, and is perfect for any season. In my mind, it is a combination of Cinderella and Audrey Hepburn. It was perfect to wear for going to Broadway to see Aladdin

Along with the dress, I wore my North Face coat to bundle up for the crisp weather. I also wore my black Elsie suede pumps from J. Crew, my Gail Statement necklace from Francesca's, my brown crossbody bag from Fossil, and my pair of diamond dangly pearl earrings. I cannot remember where I bought them from exactly, but my guess is Charming Charlie's!

It's a little hard to tell, but for my makeup I did black winged eyeliner, pink eyeshadow, and mauve cake-flavored lip gloss. I felt is was kind of a Princess Jasmine look, which made it relevant for the show we were seeing!

I am extremely glad that I took this outfit to wear for the trip, it was super perfect for a Broadway show. I couldn't tell if I felt more like a princess or Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's, or maybe a combination of them!

Furalicious

For my final outfit, I picked a type of fashion that has been a large trend this past fall and winter: fur vests!

I love furry vests so much! I know it seems a little weird considering I'm an animal lover, but I just think they are so stylish and comfortable. Plus, I like to keep up with fashion trends and try out whatever is in style.

The fur vest that I wore, pictured down below, is from Target, along with the white lace long-sleeve shirt/blouse (I got them both for very cheap deals!!!). Along with the shirt and vest, I chose to wear my new brown leather skirt from Ann Taylor, which I also got for a very good deal! I am in love with this skirt because it's perfect for nights out or for business/work occasions.

The rest of my outfit included my black Lauren Conrad boots from Kohl's, a long gold necklace from Francesca's, my brown crossbody purse (which matched with the skirt perfectly!!), my North Face coat (in case the weather got too cold), and my pink studs from Francesca's.

The back of my fur vest.

The back of my fur vest.

Since my outfit involved more neutral colors, I decided to make my makeup pop a little bit by using a royal raspberry lipstick from Sephora. If you ever feel like your outfit is too plain, feel free to add some bright color to the look!

You want to know an ironic fun fact? The sign above me in the two pictures above says "Caroline"! It was so cool, it felt like it was named after me! Plus, it's relevant to the title of this blog! Well, I guess everyone should now refer to me as "Caroline in the City". :)

10 Best Dressed at the Oscars

Hey, guys! Happy first day of March!

Did anyone watch the Oscars this past Sunday? It was a pretty good show! It wasn't my absolute favorite out of all the past shows (no one will ever beat Ellen DeGeneres as the best hostess ever). I will say, however, a lot happened. Why? Because it's Hollywood.

Chris Rock hosted, in which he was very funny as well as sweet. He helped raise money for his daughters' girl scout cookies, how cute?! Inside Out won Best Animated Feature, and that made me very happy. Brie Larson also won Best Actress, who I was rooting for the whole time and knew she was going to win. And of course the big moment, which became the most tweeted minute of any Oscars telecast, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar for Best Actor! I am no DiCaprio fan myself, but I am happy they finally gave him an award after twenty-five years of waiting. Luckily, Julianne Moore didn't pull a Steve Harvey and read the teleprompter wrong ... LOL.

But anyway, congrats, Leo. You deserve it!

Of course, this week's Tuesday Ten is going to be based off of the Oscars ceremony. And what topic of the show is being listed? Why fashion, of course! There were a lot of hits and misses on the red carpet, mainly hits! Awards shows are always full of glamour and excitement. No matter what outfit is going to be worn by a celebrity, everyone is going to be obsessed with it. So now I would like to share my top ten favorite fashion hits on the Oscars red carpet!

1.) Alicia Vikander

Everyone is talking about the Best Supporting Actress's stunning look. She totally channeled Belle from Beauty and the Beast! Her dress was made by Louis Vuitton. It is a little short on the bottom, revealing her shoes, but it seemed to make it easier to carry with the weight of the gown. I give you a 10/10, Alicia, and congrats!

2.) Brie Larson

I absolutely love royal blue. It is a color full of excitement and modesty, fit for a princess or queen. The Best Actress winner sure looked royal in her Gucci gown! Her headband in her half up half down hair is also sparkly and perfect with the dress, it looks like a crown! Very royal indeed.

3.) Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon is always classy, which is why she is one of my favorite fashion icons. A gown made by Oscar de la Renta, I love the violet purple that makes the dress pop. I also love how she wore simple accessories and let her pretty blonde hair. Like I said before, classy as always!

4.) Jennifer Lawrence

At first when I saw this dress, I thought looked kind of goth. But now as I think about it, it kind of looks like a cool and stormy look, which J-Law pulled off perfectly! Her dress is made by Dior, and I really like the lace.  It's a little hard to see at first, but if you closely you can see she's wearing a long silver necklace that's make the outfit look even more cool.

5.) Rachel McAdams

Talk about a goddess! Rachel McAdams looked super flawless in her emerald green gown made by August Getty, which is also backless. Regina George never fails to rock the red carpet!

6.) Olivia Munn

I'm not a huge fan of the color orange, but I really like how it looks on this dress. My favorite thing about this dress made by Stella McCartney is the one shoulder sleeve, it makes the gown look very goddess. Any color would look beautiful on this dress!

7.) Isla Fisher

Isla+Fisher+88th+Annual+Academy+Awards+Red+bNle7xCAnVSl.jpg

Unfortunately, I could not find the name of this dress, but it is super pretty and elegant. I love the floral pattern, but what brought the romance to the look was Isla's makeup done by Sabrina Bedrani. The makeup artist described the look as "playful and fun", which fits perfectly with a fun and classy gown!

8.) Tina Fey

If any of you guys are 90's kids, this dress reminds me exactly of one of the beautiful gowns in the 1997 animated movie Anastasia, one of my favorite movies from my childhood! Tina Fey looked super beautfiful in her purple gown made by Versace, and a sparkly amethyst necklace and fancy up-do to top it off. Her dress looks very much like Reese Witherspoon's gown, it kind of looks like they're wearing the same dress. Awkward!

9.) Kelly Ripa

I love how the black and sparkles kind of make this dress look metallic in an elegant tone! Kelly Ripa looked fabulous in her dress, it's hard to believe she's already forty-five years old! Again, I could not find out who this dress was made by. All I know is that this would make a perfect gown for prom!

10.) Brittany Snow

Brittany Snow attended the Vanity Fair party instead of the actual Oscars ceremony, which still counts! I love the the sequins and long sleeves in this beautiful Naeem Khan dress. It's kind of mermaid like! Man, now I wish I won the lottery so that I could be able to afford all of these ravishing gowns ...

10 Best Dressed at the Golden Globes

I just watched the 73rd Annual Golden Globes this past weekend, and I thought it was awesome! I absolutely love watching award shows and seeing all of my favorite celebrities dressed in beautiful outfits and winning awards for their work in Hollywood. I watch almost every known award show in Hollywood to exist, unless none of my favorite celebrities aren't there which never really happens (there's like one million of them out there). It is on my bucket list to attend an award show like the Golden Globes or Oscars one day. It would be such a cool experience and a dream come true!

In between classes and studying, I decided to write this week's top ten based on some of my favorite dresses from the show. These ten outfits brought much Hollywood glamour and magic to the red carpet!

1.) Amy Adams

Amy Adams .jpg

Words cannot describe how drop-dead gorgeous Amy Adams looked. She always dresses to impress on the red carpet, but this past weekend was probably when she impressed the most. She had her beautiful red hair all down while wearing a very beautiful Versace red/orange dress that was both sparkly and plain. It almost looked a little bit fiery! She looked very glamorous, and she's such a wonderful actress as well.

2.) Lily James

Being the title character of Disney's Cinderella, she very well was the "belle of the ball"! Her cream Marchesa gown indeed commanded much attention, especially with the long cape in the back. It reminded me of my junior year prom dress! Lily James never fails to look like a real-life fairytale princess.

3.) Brie Larson

I really loved Brie Larson's outfit. She wore a gold dress made by Calvin Klein. It looked super elegant and sexy with the little cut out parts. She also won the award for Best Actress in a Drama Film for her role in Room! I was hoping she was going to win the award. She seems really sweet and happy, so she very well deserved it.

4.) Jennifer Lawrence

J-Law nevers fails to impress me nor anyone. She's come a long way with amazing success in her career. She's a perfect role model to have, and I've always looked up to her. I loved her red Dior Haute Couture dress and her cute short updo. My favorite part of her look; however, would have to be her gorgeous necklace which probably cost one million carats. It looked like a perfect touch of elegance and grace. Congrats on your win for Joy by the way, J-Law!

5.) Katy Perry

I'm a huge fan of Katy Perry, both for her music and as a celebrity. So there was no doubt that I was going to include her in my top ten favorites. She rocked a pink Prada dress with her beautiful black hair in a half up-half down bump. I loved the shade of pink and how simple the dress was. I would definitely say she was "pretty in pink"!

6.) Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan.jpg

Zoe Kazan was in one of my favorite movies called What If, and since then I have been following her on newsfeed and social media. She's very cute, and she has a classy yet whimsical taste in fashion. I really liked her dress, made by Miu Miu, because it was very sophisticated and the stripes popped well. It looked very adorable on her, especially with her new haircut!

7.) Jenna Dewan-Tatum

This woman is absolutely stunning, and I'm jealous that she's married to Channing Tatum. Her ballgown was made by Zuhair Murad and had a midnight blue tone to it. It really looked magical, it definitely was a perfect dress for her.

8.) Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams looked so pretty and elegant in her strapless floral gown made by Lanvin. I love floral dresses, especially this one because red roses are my favorite flower! I wonder if she Ryan Gosling at the show, he sure would have thought she looked gorgeous! After all, she is his bird.

9.) Malin Akerman

What a "sweetheart"! Malin Akerman, who I know from the movie The Proposal, wowed the red carpet in a sparkly and silver lace gown made by Reem Acra, which featured a corset-like top and tight skirt. She looked very beautiful and classy. She would look a lot like Elsa from Frozen if she had longer hair in a braid, smokey eyes, and pink lips!

10.) Taraji P. Henson

Like Lily James, this gown also reminded me of my junior year prom dress! Taraji looked like a glamorous Greek goddess in her dress which was designed by Stella McCartney. She looked very sexy and sophisticated in her dress, especially with her dramatic cape in back. I also saw she handed out cookies after her win. I'm jealous, I want a cookie from a celebrity!

BONUS: Emmy Rossum

I think Emmy Rossum is very cute and has a great taste in fashion. I had to include this one because I love how simple this ruby red gown, designed by Armani Prive, was. I also love how she let her long, brunette hair down in waves along with a retro lip and simple necklace (which probably cost just as much as Jennifer Lawrence's necklace). She looked very stunning, she pulls off red perfectly!

Classy & Sassy

I can't believe winter break is already over! I just moved back into my college dorm room last night and got everything situated. I feel very organized and I am on a good schedule with my classes so far, plus the best part was returning to all of my friends! It just feels weird that winter break just ended, it didn't even feel like three weeks! I do miss my home, family, and dogs. But I'm glad that I'm back at my second home, Malone University, and I am ready to tackle semester two!

For Monday's fashion blog, I did a photoshoot on Saturday with my sister Lauren at her 21st birthday party. She is a photography minor, and her pictures are absolutely amazing. If you ever have some time, check out her photography blog: Bold Rose

For the party, I wore my new turtleneck tank from Anthropologie. This shirt is absolutely comfortable and snazzy. I used to not be a big fan of turtlenecks, but now I wish I had more! If you're looking to find a good turtleneck, I highly recommend Anthropologie. They have all the perfect ones you could imagine.

IMG_9862.JPG

My pants are from Ann Taylor. It's a little hard to tell but if you look closely, they are black leather.  They're a little uncomfortable to put on at first, but after a while they don't feel too tight. I even wore them to the movie theaters!

I didn't go too crazy with my accessories. I just picked some simple and charming pieces. If you look closely in the picture below, I'm wearing a long, gold necklace which I think might be from Francesca's, but I may be wrongWhen it comes to turtlenecks, I like wearing longer necklaces to fit perfectly on the neck piece. Plus, it focuses more on the shirt rather than the necklace.

I also wore my favorite bracelet from Pandora. No description on why Pandora is awesome needed.

I recently just bought a pair of black pumps from J. Crew, and it might be the best purchase I've ever made on any type of clothing! They were a bit pricy, but it was totally worth it to buy them. They literally go perfect with any dressy outfit. Dresses, pants, skirts, you name them!

Finally, for my earrings, I chose my diamond studs. I've had them for a while, so I can't remember exactly where I bought them from. They were very cheap, I will say that. You can most definitely purchase a similar pair from Francesca's, Charming Charlie's, Claire's, or Icing for less than ten bucks.

To sum up, I think this outfit is both classy and sassy, hence the title. It is very sophisticated, but has a sort of sexy tone to it. It's definitely perfect for parties and night outs, anywhere you go basically. Classy is the new sassy, and that's better than dressing trashy! (Don't mind my Dr. Seuss rhymes.)

Haute Hippie

Hey, guys! I'm so relieved my first semester is over. I do miss all of my college friends, but I'm just enjoying my three-week break with no class assignments or anything too busy. Because I am less busy than normally, I have more time to make more blog posts! Yay!

Yesterday my old high school had an alumni luncheon. I hadn't seen my friends and teachers in so long, so I wanted to dress to impress. Fashion has always been important to my identity, especially now that I'm in college and figuring out who I am. I want to be represented in my own confident way, and I believe everyone deserves to have their own kind of style that makes them unique and beautiful. I didn't want to show my high school friends and teachers that I changed but that I have grown

As you can tell by reading the title, my outfit is sort of hippie-like. Not considerably 1970's, but just very chic. My crochet dress comes from Francesca's, and it is currently my favorite dress that I own. It's super classy, sheek, and perfect for both warm weather and cold weather.

My favorite material of the dress would have to be the long and wide sleeves. I think they make the dress look very sophisticated, you can even spread them out and pretend to be a bird! Or a bat since it's black, but bats kind of scare me ...

As for shoes and leg cover-up, I picked my black booties from Steve Madden and black tights from Target. I also wore my glasses as my main accessory. These three essentials definitely gave the outfit a very hip-kind of look.

I honestly wouldn't wear too much accessories with this outfit, especially if you choose wear glasses like I did. If you choose not to wear glasses, a sparkly headband would look nice as well as small earrings and rings. Or you can also wear a large necklace instead of the headband as well.

Here I am spreading my arms and trying to look like I have wings!

This outfit actually made me feel sexy in a modest tone. I believe classy is the best way to express your identity in an intelligent way. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite actress/role model/fashion icon/everything, Emma Watson, is, "My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal, the more people can wonder." That quote always intrigued me because I love the idea of having a sense of pride and sophistication when dressing up. Nothing is more beautiful than a girl who doesn't give herself limits.

I hope this fashion post was interesting and inspiring in some way. I had a wonderful time dressing up and seeing everyone at my high school again! I can't wait to make more upcoming posts in the future over my three-week break, so stay tuned and thank you! :)
